I have eased up on my food, I'm eating over double what I was before I found out I was pregnant, but it's still not quite enough. I'm giving myself another week, and if I still haven't managed to build my calories up, I'm going to have a build up drink or two throughout the day.
I hope to find out the sex (It makes shopping easier!). We tried to find out with Madeleine but she had her legs shut so it was a surprise in the end! I was convinced she was a boy for some reason... and again, I think this one might be a boy!
My mum had 3 boys before me, and she just knew i was a girl the moment she found out she was pregnant with me, she just felt different. Her skin pigmant went REALLY tanned as if she'd been living abroad, and i came out like a chinese baby..
(Excuse the fact i murged them all together - this was years ago, can't find the originals! But you get the gist..oh and excuse my sh*tty drawing (which is squidged on the side - it's bigger in real life), that was during my school days when i took art! Oh and the second one is a comparison photo of me and my niece for my sister in law who was convinced i looked like Elana (eldest niece - she's 7 now!) and thats my old email addy!)

I find it funny how i came out so brown with black hair, then went to be white blonde! I tan really easily now aswell.
Er anyway, excuse the pic overload, haha.
But yes - keep up with the eating Helena, even if it's just snacks or eat little and often. Wishing you the best of luck! <3
Aww laura, you were a cute baby! you look quite similar to my daughter when she was born, i'm white and my husband is half black carabbean and half latino. Adela looked chinese!
Helena, keep trying top eat, I lived on bbq hula hoops, greek yoghurt, humous and jelly snakes throughout the 1st tremester haha
Aw cheers Anna! I saw pics of you/your partner & Adela on the "You and your partner" thread on the picture board and i said "aww" outloud, you're all such a beautiful family!
When i posted my pictures on another forum (going back a few years now) they asked who the person was in the first picture (the one when i was a newborn) and they were surprised when i said me because of how blonde i went in my toddler years! I didn't stay dark for long! But i came out really tanned with lots of black hair!
I love your sig by the way with you and Adela - so adorable! I'm UBER jealous of Adela's colouring - lucky girl! xx
I wish i'd kept my colouring from then. All round tan!
Aha Italians are hot though..or should i not say that incase it weirds you out considering its your brother? lmao..xx
i've been planning Adela's birthday party too. We're having it in the flat / garden. I think a lot of people will drop by so we'll have to get stocked up on the food and drink. It'll be Iceland food and our own punch. I've asked a few poeple to bring cakes and I'm making the birthday cake. it might be an idea to child proof the house a bit Berni, then you won't have to worry about other kids who might come and play.
warn the parents that its not child proofed and ask for people to bring enough meat to bbq and drink for themselves, then you just buy bread rolls and salad. mand x

I had a level 2 ultrasound done monday. Baby's healthy and perfect!
And.... A GIRL!!!! Yay. They did tests for every sort of disorder and she came out negative for all of them. Her name will be Abigail Leilani. Dunno the last name yet. She might just take mine since i hate the father.
Aha Italians are hot though..or should i not say that incase it weirds you out considering its your brother? lmao..xx
Actually he's really not... he's greasy and doesn't clean his flat EVER. But other people reckon he is quite hot... maybe it's because he's my brother!
meandbabyunborn - congratulations! I'm so glad everything's ok. I can't wait for my scan!
To be honest, I wouldn't bother unless you were giong to babyproof for Kyle anyway - just let the parents know. If I was going to someone else's house I wouldn't assume it was safe, I'd just keep an eye on Oliver. We don't have any babyproofing apart from a stairgate which is usually left open (and and anything breakable moved to top shelves!) and it's never been an issue when Oliver's friends come round.
The food for Oliver's naming ceremony didn't cost us much, I'd say under £50 - we just did sandwiches, a few pizzas and quiches, sausage rolls, and some bowls of pastas and salads. And then a few cheesecakes and a gateau with a jug of cream. The place had a bar though so we didn't have to buy drinks and just did a jug of juice and one of water. We had more than enough, you can definitely have a nice day for not too much money :)
draw catches and a stairgate is a good place to start, if you move breakables and cleaning fluids from children's reach I think that would be enough. I'm the same wityh Adela she goes in her play pen if I'm doing something that means I can't watch her. I agree with Kelly, I don't presume other people's houses are child proof.
I need to get party invites sent out!
A naming ceremony is similar to a christening without all the religion involved.
Both of my nieces had naming ceremonys, whereas my other niece/nephew had christenings. It really just comes down to peoples beliefs.
I agree with everyone in regards to safety Berni - i wouldn't worry too much. I think bringing the stairgate down would be a good idea, put all breakables away and put some draw catches on and you'll be fine.
A paddling pool sounds awesome - most babies love splashing around, i'm sure that will keep them amused!
As someone else said - get all your food from Iceland if you have one local - they also deliver i believe, or they used to, so if you get a large amount you get free delivery.
They do loads of stuff really cheap. I love Iceland. Ours was taken over by Marks & Spencers (which i've never stepped in as i think it's a "posh shop" and totally not me) but since our big woolworths closed down we're getting an Iceland! And the area is HUGE so i can't wait. Bring on Iceland and junk food haha.
Helena - You totally would say that about your brother lol! Everyone thinks two of my brothers are "fit" but i'm like..ew no, and start pointing out the gross habits!
could the guests bring their own bread and drink then? and you do the meat? a lot of places have offers on bbq stuff at the mo, is your freezer big enough to buy a few bits here and there?

My little boy is going to be 1 on Saturday. So depressing! This time last year he hadn't even been born and now he's babbling away and taking steps.... he's growing up too fast. Makes me sad.
I'm eighteen and 11 weeks pregnant, and scared. My first scan is next friday and I don't know what to expect or what will happen. And I'm gonna be on my own because the baby's dad has just been sectioned in a mental health unit. I'm scared.
i know that feeling well ashleigh. freyja now walks confidently, shes got her first pair of shoes, had her first haircut. she chats away, saying some recognisable words. shes learning everything. the little madam is currently biting the computer chair??? its sad when they have their birthday. but also very happy and you feel proud.
this is freyja on her first birthday on 3rd may 09 -
