Hii I'm going dress shopping tomorrow (not exactly summer stuff lol) and I don't really want to wear arm warmers or anything (because that's kind of a dead giveaway to my mom as is longs sleeves) so does anybody have any ideas?

Let's put a smile on that face

We are not alone
Find out when your cover's blown
There'll be somebody there to break your fall
We are not alone
'Cause when you cut down to the bone
We're really not so different after all

And for anyone who has scars on their legs, you can wear a mini-skirt with leggins so that you're not warm but still covered.

For scars on upper thighs, when wearing a swimming suit I also wear some matching shorts over top. No one seems to care about that much..you just make like you're modest. As for scars around the wrist area, I find that wearing multiple big, colorful bracelets and bangles covers them all up, and it looks really cute and fashionable wearing jewelry with a bathing suit.
The scars on my arms are so old that they are a shiny white color, while the rest of my body is really tanned. REALLY noticeable. So I've collected tons of jewelry, and play it off as my style to have a lot on my arms.

Not really useful but while i go swimming people dont notice my scars on my chest or arms because i dont stop swimming or keep my midsection under the water, or i go alone most times, im used to wearing long sleeved clothing when going out with friends even in the summer, weather its just a shirt or a jacket, so anything that looks just casual will probably work for hiding scars. i dont have any scars on my legs so i dont know what to suggest their lol.

I have cuts all over my chest so when I really had to go swimming I just wore a tankini. It's not as tight as a swimsuit but it covers you up :)
I have like 8 hoodies and I usually always wear one because it hides my arms but it doesn't look suspicious.

Well, I wear long sleeved jackets, whatever the weather, and if not i hang it over my arm. A pain but whatever. As for my legs, I always wear jeans...

thank you, Lily, for saving mummy's life*.
You are my one and only, you can wrap your fingers round my thumb and hold me tight, and you'll be alright.

Hi guys. I admit that I haven't read all 15 pages of suggestions but what about swimming when the cuts are on the shins? You can't really wear knee-high socks when swimming, can you?!?! I guess you could claim you're going for a 'St Trinians' slutty swimwear look but I'm not sure that would pass by many people's standards... Also, I've got them on my forearms and so chunky bracelets (whilst amazing!) won't really work either. I like the idea of just 'not stopping swimming' when you're going alone. However, what about when you're going with friends and will spend a lot of the time just mucking about and not doing that much actual swimming??? Apart from a full-body wetsuit (expensive and would look ridiculous), I can't really see a way around this. Is the simple answer that I'm just not going to be able to swim? Any tips would be appreciated (:
PS. I know it's no longer the summer but swimming is an all year round activity (when it's not snowing madly, anyway)

When you are in the water no-one will notice because the water distorts things anyway. When you are walking from the pool to the changing rooms wear a long towel round your waist to cover your shins, and maybe carry another towel casually draped over your arm. Or wear a dark coloured sarong if you are going on holiday or something.

This year is going to be my first summer after I started cutting.
I will go to a summercamp for 3 weeks and Ill meet all my good friends from last year again. They will notice if I wear something long all the time.
And I cant cover it with dermablend etc, because I wont have privacy there.
We share a tent and bathroom and showers.
Ill probably end up showering in the middle of the night and wearing long sleeves all the time... ugh

Does Vitamin E really help? Cuz I just found this article saying that it isn't recommended by doctors and can actually make scarring worse so now i'm really confused. I just bought some vitamin e cream today so I don't know if I should continue using it. Here is the article I found: http://www.squidoo.com/vitamin-e-scar It also mentions these strips called Scar Away and it says they are the #1 treatment for scars on Amazon's website so I might get some.

I also found another website here that might be helpful. It seems to show that the silicone strips are the most effective way without getting plastic surgery to remove scars. http://www.getridofthings.com/getridofscars.htm

I think I am still gonna use the Vitamin E cream I got to see if it does anything at all over time, but I definitely plan on getting the strips as well. I am gonna look for some bulky new bracelets to wear until the really noticeable scar on my wrist fades more.

Just wondering, if i wear a kaftan (black one cause i think it will be less see through then a white one) to cover up my upper arm and forearm can i go into a swimming pool like this? I know you can go to the beach in a kaftan but i dont think i've ever seen anyone wearing a kaftan in a swimming pool or the actuall sea, can i do it? otherwise i think im just not gonna swim ever again :[

I don't know if you could wear a kaftan in the pool but you could diffo in the sea. Thats what i'm going to do this yr.

I've started the bio oil to try and fade them as much as i can, ive got under three months until i go away!
