OMG ouch Stace!!
Get some calamine lotion from your chemist and dab it on - it soothes it and takes away the pain. I SWEAR by it and my family have been using it for centuries, quite lirali.
And might i just say - you have the most amazing f*cking figure ever. Majorly jealous!
calamine lotion is good? i only ever used it on chickenpox!
and yes its very sore!!!! i was out from 11.30 to 4.45 and that was the result. freyja had factor 50+ sunblock on and reapplied religiously while having her parasol over her too so shes fine but me, omg i should have paid more attention to me. but my arms are ok and my chest is alright so i didnt realise until my friend said to me that i was burned.
and thank you very much....i like having a waist. its one of my good points!

You have a proper womans body Stace - curves in all the right places, you need to not be so down on yourself, i'd love to look like that! Honestly!
And yep! Calamine lotion is all i ever use on sunburn, it soothes it, and i reapply it when i need to, get the other half to dab it on with cotton wool. It can get messy but it definatly works! And when it's settled down use after sun on it to soothe the dry/flakey skin. And remember to put sun lotion on yourself next time!!
I've only ever got sunburnt twice, the worst was when i was 12 and on holiday in Costa Dorado. I'm a complete water baby and spent 95% of the day in the sea - worst place to get sunburnt as the sun reflects off the water making it more harsher on the skin. Omg, my whole back/front was completely burnt to smitherines, i suffered baddddly. And i was at that stage of not quite wearing a proper bra but wearing crop tops - which made it burn more, so i went around with just a big baggy t-shirt on for days!
I feel your pain, sunburn is horrid! I hope it soothes soon and take paracetamol too if you can.
xxxx
i dont have any calamine at the mo so have used sudocream on the advice of jamie. sounds like a bad burn when you were 12! i had the same when i was 16 and spent the day in a water park in cyprus. oh my god my legs felt on fire the next day!
im itchy and sore so im not looking forward to lying in my bed tonight lol, duvet will prob hurt.

My worst sunburn was when I was in Singapore when I was 16. I'd never been to a hot country and I assumed because I don't burn in England, I wouldn't burn ANYWHERE in the world! So... I lay on a beach in a bikini all day, dipping in and out of the sea, without any suncream on! I had awful burns all over my body, and terrible heat stroke. Layers of my skin started peeling off and I looked, and felt, awful.
stace, sleep with a cold wet towel around your shoulders. it will help re-hydrate your skin, keep cooling it down (like any other burn) and will help stop the peeling.
i burn very easily no matter what i use and have used that trick on holiday a few times to help get some sleep. you feel much better the next morning.
ps how is that waist possible? if i were a man....
:p

matt whacked his shoulder yesterday, was carrying chloe down stairs and as he went thru the door she decided to throw herself, driving his shoulder into the door frame, all bruised and can hardly move!
i blew up a paddling pool for chloe, it cost £3 and has an inflatable sunshade to keep the sun off, so we suncreamed ourselves and filled it up and she hates it. i keep putting more hot water in but she keeps crying and climbing out. i'm sure we used to just fill ours up with the hosepipe? so just cold water? it was lukewarm to start with but she didn't like it.
maybe she's just tired, will try again later.

Madeleine enjoyed her first proper session at nursery today (3 hrs) and I went for my councelling initial assesment (which went well).
When I picked Madeleine up, she seemed really happy playing there and didn't want to leave. She was very tired though. So when we got home I put her to bed. Then she went a bit wierd. Usually she drinks her milk, and goes straight to sleep with no fuss. But today it was like she thought I was abandoning her in her cot. She cried for ages and I kept going in to reassure her. Eventually she fell asleep, and this afternoon she's been fine.
Helena, its probably just residule from being without you whilst at nursery. Im sure when she gets into a routine with it and she knows youre not going away then itll calm down :) xx
There are times to stay put, and what you want will come to you.
But there are times to go out into the world and find such a thing for yourself.
I aint no abacus but you can count on me.
chloe went in her new paddling pool today! mummy nearly passed out blowing it up though! It's a little 2 ring thing with an inflatable sun shade, so i turned it so it was in the shade, filled it with warmish water, slapped on her waterproof suncream, whipped off the nappy and put her in it.
she howled!
we kept putting more and more warm water in it and she still didn't like it. so i took her in and she cried herself to sleep in matt's arms.
later on in the nearly cold water she went in and was fine. i guess it was just a new thing when tired isn't good! she was splashing about til she fell over in it. our garden slopes so when she stood up she kept sitting down rather hard. i have it on a foam mat to stop any punctures, but when she got her head wet she didn't like it.
i decided not to trauma her any further by trying to bath her! was 10:50 when i finally got her into her cot, took hours to settle her.

we're having them in the midlands atm, which is a hike for us and kelly but seems a sorta central point and i have family in the area too so we combine visits and kill 2 birds with one stone.
im feeling a bit wierd about this baby. not excited like i was with chloe. yeah i want another little baby to cuddle, but i'm more wanting the pregnancy bit to be over just so i don't have to be pregnant anymore. rather than because i want to meet my little one. it might be an off day or summat... i don't know. still time i suppose to bond.

Congratulations Helena - sorry i never got to send those tests out, but i guess they wouldn't have all been used anyway haha.
Stace do you want them? For next time? :P :P I think Frejya wants another brother/sister soon ;) I hate having these tests stuck in a draw, it just reminds me of what i can't have. So i'll be pleased to get them off my hands.
Mand - i'm sure you're just having an "off" day, plus the fact there's always so much hype over first time babies - the hype wears off with the second/onwards. Plus the fact i know you don't have easy pregnancies so it might all be a combination.
Can i steal a baby for a few days? Just to get through my broody stage? Thanks :P X
chloe dictates her own nap and bedtimes atm, her teeth keep her awake some nights so she is more tired in the day meaning she is less tired at night etc.. she had 4 hours of naps today and was literally zonkered... i had to wake her and she did the whole droopy 'mooooooooom i'm trying to sleep' thing at me for an hour!!
was 10:50pm again when she finally went to bed. she ate lunt at 3pm (slept from 12-2 and didnt want food until 3), tea at gone 7pm... i think the heat is making her tired and not hungry, am giving her it all cold shes wolfs it down cold but refuses it warm, i think i'd be the same! and she LOVES icelollies. she gets it! she holds the stick and chomps the top, then turns it sideways to eat down the stick.. she's even learning to balance the last bits so they don't fall off. but really funny when she gets brain freze!
she drops the lolly, grabs her hair by her ears and wails! nothing i can do except cuddle her. so now mummy eats some for her so she only has 2/3rds. ps i'm saving her lolly sticks to make some home-made lollies.
i have some icicle ice cube moulds (rubber so they come out easy), i'm gonna make some lemon squash ice-lollies with the sticks. mand x
