I have a little nudist in the family! Maddles has taken all her clothes off and is playing naked!
She also did a poo on the floor. I could see she was trying to do one, so I tried to get her to sit on the potty but she refused and did it standing, on the floor. hmph.
I had this fake baby to look after in our child care class and its head just rolled all over the place. like unless you supported it properly it just rolled all over the shot is that what a reall baby is like?
but after being told how to handle it i got 94% :)
chloe could always hold her head fairly well, and real babies aren't as delicate - the fake ones are like worst case scenario. the midwives and hospital staff treat babies like rugby balls, doesn't seem to do them any harm.
i also live with my parents and they are good at taking chloe so i can sleep. mum took her at 7am this morning coz we'd been up all night with her, and matt and i are ill. sometimes she sleeps in grandma and grandad's bed if she is ill and we can't get her to settle. i know about the endless advice that you really dont want. i tried to blw chloe, but all i got was 'she's not eating enough... she's getting too frustrated.... it's not fair on her' blah blah blah. i had enough in the end and started giving her jars of food as well as finger food. its all she'll eat now - thanks mum!
just remind your mum that if you went back to working after your 6months paid leave, he'd be in childcare/creche/nursery etc full time and he'd have to get used to it.
i've just been fitted with a hip brace at physio, come home and needed the loo, took it off and now i can't get the damn thing back on! i can't find my hip bones to put the straps over. anyone got any experience of them?

I remember when adelas head was like that, made it that much harder to cart her around. Well done on the 94%
Paperclip, I agree that you need to be firm with your family, they have no right to make you feel like a bad mother for leaving hiom with them from time to time. My mum has a dig whenever she gets a chance, I don't see her very often, but when I do I leave doubting my ability to be a good mum, but I soon realise that it's her in the wrong for speaking out of turn, not me for daring to do things wsith adela my own way.
it's so frustrating not knowing if I'm pregnant or not.
I got those tests off ebay, and they came today, but it's still showing negative.
If I'm pregnant, baby is one week and four days old... so I know it's really early!!
I've come off my pill in the hope that my period will either start or not start - either way, I'll know. I've been off it three days now and still no period.
Sympoms I've had: on and off tender breasts, on and off sickness, tiredness, bloating, disturbed sleep.
To me, that sounds like pregnancy, but Pete says I'm probably looking for symptoms because I WANT to be pregnant! He could be right.
you say baby is one week and four days old... does that allow for your ovulation etc...
they usually count pregnancy from the first day of your last period. when i was 16 days pregnant i got my first symptoms - so literally one or two days after conception, so you can get early symptoms, and i just knew, had to wait 2 weeks for tests, but had a blood test done (it takes 3 days for the hormone to get into your water... so if you're testing for 25mui then it will take 3 days more to get a positive result on a urine test than a blood test). When i got results the dr said i would probably be able to turn a test in another day or two.
the pill won't harm your baby so you don't have to come off it until you know. Also if you do decide to come off it, but go back on it, start a new pack on the first day of bleeding (if it comes!) so your cycles don't get messed up.

LOL I've absolutely no idea. I said that age, because I know exactly when it was (or now, wasn't) conceived.
My cycles are so strange. I've just had nearly a year of continuous bleeding before they took my implant out. The only time I've ever had regular periods was when I was on the pill before. Left to it's own devices, my body just has random periods, whenever it feels like it. It's not unusual for me to piss periods altogether. I think my ed when I was a teenager messed them up. My periods started when I was 13 and my ed when I was 14. My ed was quite severe from the age of 15-21.
if you know the date of conception, add about 2 weeks to it then it's near enough right, could still be a day or two out due to late implantations etc.
good luck for next cycle hun.
Chloe made her first appearance at the children's a&e today!
Matt and I were having a lie-in, i'd been puking up all night, so mum took Chloe into her bed. Anyway, Dad brought Chloe up to see us, the hamster was temporarily at the top of the stairs (they needed his table when they had a dinner party). Chloe pulled his water bottle off, while dad was putting it back on, the hamster came out and dad didn't realise Chloe's other han was sticking through the bars, of course the hamster chomped on and wouldn't let go.
my dad had to open the cage and prise his jaws open.
blood everywhere.
30mins later... still bleeding. we were holding the edges together, tryign to put pressure on and hold it up in the air, she was having none of it. got out the choccie buttons and she calmed down, we managed to stop it bleeding.
'got her to a&e, they didn't clean or dress it, incase it re-opened and started bleeding again. her tetanus is upto date, so they gave us an ointment for infected wounds and said if it started looking infected go to gp for oral antibiotics.
was a bit hairy scary. hamster is back out of reach and the carpet is just about clean. poor dab.

the cut looks like it re-opened during the night, the 'hole' was plugged up with dried blood - scab like - now it's a a hole about 5mm across and gapin 2mm wide - less than it was luckily. just glad we got the ointment for it, coz we're filling the gap with the cream - like polyfiller lol! it looked all bruised today and she kept going up to everyone at signing class today, shoving it in their faces and going 'ooooh', she even tried to force our friend's child to kiss it better for her - emily did not look amused!
tried again today to put this stupid support belt on, just cannot get it on in the right place. how useless? all he said was it has to have contact with the hip bones at the side - well we're doing that but we can't get it tight enough, when the physio put it on i felt it squeeze the joints back together - instant relief! dunno where we're going wrong, mand x

Oliver said his first word today, well 2! He's bypassed the more traditional first words of 'mama' and 'dada' and gone for the slightly more unconventional.. bus and fish :D
awwww chloe tries to say 'yes' if you ask her something like ;is your name chloe' she'll go 'sssss' or 'ussssss' she's heavily into bow-wow-wow-wow or wo-wo-wo-wo for dog noises and ah-ah-ah for monkeys and buuuuuuh for sheep and blah blah for daddy lol!
she drank a whole carton of apple juice from a straw today! my mum had a carton (got them cheap like 5p each coz the straws were missing so we're saving a straw and washing it) and chloe pinched it, first time i've seen her suck a straw and get anything. she usually squeezes the carton and swallows/chokes/spits out what she gets lol. so i'm thinking of getting one of those cups that has a bendy straw in, when you close the lid it seals the straw off... dunno if you know what i'm on about, but the kids at church all use them instead of sippy cups.
also the cut on her finger re-opened today, only bled for 10mins this time luckily. dunno what happened, she was playing on the carpet and suddenly wailing and holding her finger in the air. we managed to get a plaster on for 10mins or so... but she chewed it off.
hope everyone is ok, mand x

I haven't been here for a while, but I hope some of you remember me!I just had a hard time dealing with being pregnant and didn't feel like doing anything, especially chatting online. I'm about 4 months now and everyone I know is well aware now. I was really afraid to tell anyone at first. My parents are still upset with me, but I guess they've accepted it. I'm not in the same country as them at the moment, so there's not much they can do.
Anyway, I've officially decided to keep the baby. Obviously, it's a little too late for abortion. My boyfriend and I decided that we can't put our child up for adoption, so I guess we're going to make the best of it. I'm still scared as hell, but I'm feeling a lot better about it. Now I just feel overwhelmed because although the baby isn't due until October, I feel like there are endless things to do to prepare!!
hey almost gold, it's good to see you!
I don't think my parents came round till the idea until they met adela, now they are besoted with her!
Don't worry too much about the preparations yet, you have plenty of time, just look after yourself and take it easy
