I recognise their superiority to the PC but I cannot yet afford to buy anything.
I fully intend to buy the works though, iPod, Mac, and iPhone 3Gs. I don't like the design of the iPhone4.
I also won't buy the iPad until they get its problems sorted out.

As much as I love my Mac, I will be the first person to say that they are expensive for what they are. You can buy a much better spec PC for the same price. But I'm used to it and everything is so quick and easy. And it's good to be able to use both.
But the mac's have less bugs and breakdowns and are supposed to be better quality.

Some guy at Microsoft said the iPhone4 is Apple's Vista disaster.
So at least only apple has had the iPhone4.
Microsoft has had Vista, Windows Me, Microsoft Office for Windows xp, the millenium bug scare...I could go on.

PCs don't have many viruses if you know how to protect it. Some people make the mistake with Macs and think they don't need any protection, but you do. Apple are generally pretty good with support and repairs though, especially if you have a store near you.
If you want to game then they are rubbish, as few games are supported.
But you really need to know what you're doing to protect a PC.
Mac's don't have many virus's made for them because less people use them.
Hackers go for mass market.
Apple came first, and proved the better company.
Microsoft only won out because they flooded the market with cheaper machines.
That cheapness shows at times.

Gaming isn't an issue for me. I only play world of warcraft.

When I get a mac I'll use it mostly for writing and surfing the net.
I just want less bugs and inexplicable system freezing and non-responsiveness.

I've seen the apple store. I've seen the mac I want and how much it will cost for the specs I like. Over two grand.

I do love iPods though, but I think iPhones are over-rated. Most of the technology in an iPhone you can get in a lot of phones nowadays...and they don't cost you an extra £100 on top of an already expensive contract :P
