It's a anti psychotic in large doses, but acts as a mood stabiliser and calms anxiety in small ones as its a sedative, which is what I'm on it for.

quetiapine worked for me for a bit when first on it, got up to 800mg on it, then stupidly abused it and got taken off it. used to help me sleep well.
Qualified Peer Support Worker (2017) current mental health diagnoses : depression, PTSD, GAD, self harm, bpd
current meds (as at Feb 2017) : , thyroxine, metformin, iron, b12, vit d, atenolol, Butec, Naproxen, Nefopam, Lanzoprazole, Bupropion, quetiapine (prn)

It worked really well for me until idiot temp psych told me I shouldn't be in 50mg if I'm functioning do halved the dose two weeks ago...

i guess its one of those tricky meds, cos at different doses its good for different things, do what you think will get you through safely, but please be careful x

50 mg was prescribed by a psych who had worked with me over a few months, not just for half an hours appointment. So it'll be fine.
