Hm i could try wearin a wetsuit but... all my friends wear bikini's so i might look a bit weird lol :)
Thanks for the links, i'l have a look for Clarins, eucerin, and the nivea stuff... but i'll have to look in Boots, coz i live on an island (Jersey) and we don't have a Superdrug, typical! lol :)

Okk, so I need some help.

I'm going to the beach for the week with my aunt uncle, cousins grandparents etc, and I have some nasty scars on my ankles. I'm talking purple..

Which wouldn't be a huge deal normailly. I would wear shorts and a tee, then foundation, baby powder and hairspray on my scars.. But I dont have any more foundation that matches my skin, and I dont wear makeup, so I cant really convince my mum that I need more foundation/concealor. I live in the middle of nowhere, so I cant sneak off any buy any. Bracelets dont really work on this one. It's kinda hard to miss, and I'm completely freaking out. Is there anyone who knows of anything that could help? =s

ribbonsoflight, i don#'t know any products that might help, but are you sure your mum would be suspicious of your buying foundation? maybe if you started wearing a bit of make-up, and foundation once you've bought it, just occasionally, she wouldn't think anything of it?

just tell your mum that you find that your skin-tone is uneven or you've been getting an awful lot of spots lately and that's why you want to buy concealer and foundation, just in case you want to go out in the evening or whatever. this shouldn't make her suspicious.

At my school P.E is mandatory and there aren't any long sleeved shirts, my concealer doesn't work on the cuts and if I show up with plasters on my arm every day the teachers will say something or I'll get made fun of because I'm already known as the 'emo girl' so I'm just feeding into the stereotype. I'm not allowed jewellry to cover them, no jewellry etc.

aphra - when i had that problem, i'd forge a note from my mum and skive off games. obviously i'm not encouraging you to be dishonest, but if you don't want the cuts to be seen, it is the most effective way if you can get away with it. if you can bear to have people comment, it might be easier long-term to go ahead without covering-up. have you tried a different brand/tone of concealer?

waiting in the dark -

Yeah I have but I'm having trouble blending it and you can still see them, I could try not covering them up but I don't think my parents or teachers will keep beleiving the "I was playing with my cat" excuse.

if you're in the uk you could buy dermablend. i've not tried it myself, but it's mentioned a few times round here.

just put tubi-grip or something over them and say you fell on your hand or whatever.
you could also just put normal bandages over them and say something like "I fell and then I scratched my whooole arm on a glass table".

hairspray is meant to be good for fixing make-up, though i'm not sure how good it is for your skin!

I taught myself to get used to wearing long sleeves and long pants at all times of my life. If you wear them everyday, from winter into summer, it'll be no problem. Another thing that you can do is, wear short sleeps, but, where a lightweight jacket at all times, and keep in unzipped. That way, you haven't got supiscious just-arm coverings, you're still covered, and the breezes with go directly into your jacket.

Wont it be dull when we rid ourselves of all these demons haunting us to keep us company?
Wont it be odd to be happy like we always thought we're supposed to feel, but never seemed to be?

They say that Jesus and mental health are just for those who can help themselves. Well, what good is that when you live in hell on Earth?

From the very fear that makes you want to die, its just the same as what keeps you alive. Its way more trouble than some suicide is worth.

If your a raver, go for kandi. lol That's what I do.
Instead of dermablend (I'm assuming it's a little pricy), you can also find a thick cream concealer that matches the shade of whatever body part you need to apply it to. Apply that over the area with scars. Use a powder (since most women already have at least the powder), brush it over both limbs in the same area. And then, it should be not very visable, if at all.
haha. I've mastered that since I live in teh desert, and it's kinda hard to SURVIVE in long sleeves.
Also, fish net tops under whatever your wearing. Like a screen t or something.
A watch.
Orrrrrr, if your scars arent too bad, you can always wear something (like a peice of jewlry or something), that attracts people attention there, instead of where ever your scar is. Like if its your arms, wear a really really cute necklace.

Or, you can be creative and create a story of how you got the scars! (I usually go for a losing battle w my cats... And, most people just assume I'm crazy... But, the ones on my wrist are only visable when I'm cold. lol. Idk...)

But, ifyou want to have more fun, you can come up with an even better story. Esp one that you friends wont believe, but wont neccisarily not believe.

=]
