This may have already been said, but I found that tea tree oil worked well. It didn't completely "dissolve" them, but it did help them to look less harsh. It also can help on fresh cuts, as if you buy just the pure oil, it acts as a natural antiseptic, and can help fend off infection.

For summer I wear men's dress shirts. (Like what might be under a suit), roll the sleeves to the elbows, leave it unbuttoned with a tank underneath, and then wear a bunch of bracelets. I find thin ones work well if there are lots of them, because if the scars are thin, they may be mistaken for shadows of the bracelet. Anklets will act in the same way as well.

Hope this helps.

Too tired to look through all the posts, done a quick scan but the reading of a computer screen is quite nauseating now!! Anyway, didn't notice linen pants mentioned anywhere. Nearly everyone had bought a pair of linen pants at the college i go to. They are everywhere and Primark sell them in a few diff colours, seen them in Tesco although colours are of a smaller range. I wear them all the time to cover up my legs, although I made the mistake of wearing a light coloured pair over fresh cuts which got messy.

Im SO sick of wearing boleros and stuff like that on top of my t-shirts. It's getting too hot, but it does work.

Wondering if I should just put on some dermablend and a t-shirt, and dont give a **** about what people think though.

But im a coward =)

I stopped so that i wouldnt have to cover up for the summer, but it hasnt worked and im constantly hot having to wear long sleeved stuff. i can cope with that but any ideas on what to do for my family holiday? greece is really hot so theres no way i can avoid swimming, sunbathing etc. dermablend and stuff sounds good, but will it work in time? need help!!

Dermablend works immmidately :) It's like makeup. But you should order it as fast as possible, I had to wait for ages before I got it.

There is a tanning lotion (a bit like Dove summer skin or whatever it's called) that is meant to cover up any marks, blemishes, uneven skin tones, etc. as well as giving you a tan. I don't know how good it is, but could be worth a shot. It's called Let It Show, and it's from Origins, so you can get it in department stores. Kinda expensive though.

Any ideas?

My prom is fast approaching, not too sure if my sweatband will fit with my dress. Lol.

My scars arent raised or anything, just need to cover them up for the night. Dont want it to ruin my night.

I wore gloves with the dress for my prom, worked pretty well and no one asked any questions. Of course, the dress would've looked better without them, but it was my only option.
If your scars aren't raised, then dermablend is a good option. You could always put on dermablend and then take gloves with you, just to be on the safe side.
Hope that helped.

On the Dermablend site there is a list of chemists that stock it, I'm sure.

Gloves are a good option, or maybe a chunky bracelet? I'm not sure how extensive the scarring is so yeah...good luck, I'm sure you will be fine! My friend used foundation (dream matte mousee, its quite thick) to cover her scars which weren't raised, it worked pretty well she just had to reapply it a few times, but you couldn't see them at all.

Scar reduction can be expensive, but a sympathetic GP will prescribe silicon scar sheets if you ask...save yourself £20 :)

you can usually get away with a band aid or two without people asking too many awkward questions. one time i got these really brightly colored band aids and kind of wore them as a fashion statement, and no one even asked what happened :)

It doesnt rub of, at least not if you put on setting powder. It's water resistant too;)
It's kinda like a foundations yes. It didnt really work for me. Mainly because I got the wrong color....It did make the scars more even, but it didnt really cover them.
