The Elephant Vanishes by Haruki Murakami. It's a collection of his short stories and it's just brilliant. So far my favourite ones are 'Sleep' and 'On seeing the 100% perfect girl one beautiful april morning'

Last read: Anna Karenina by Leo Tolstoy. I'm not a big fan of romance or love stories, but Anna Karenina is by far one of my favourite books of all time. Fairly slowly-paced, but not necessarily in a bad way. Beautifully written, with one of the most shocking (and flawlessly executed) endings I've ever read.
Currently reading: The Canterbury Tales by Geoffrey Chaucer.
Next on my list: The Handmaid's Tale by Margaret Atwood.

I'm unsure about reading War And Peace because the idea of over 1000 characters turns me off a bit, plus I forgot it at school and I'm on Christmas break.

I'm determined to read War and Peace someday... It would be the longest book I've ever read, but only JUST (James Clavell's Shogun is almost 1300 pages long). A cast of over 1000 characters would be an interesting challenge... Anna Karenina, Shogun and The Count of Monte Cristo have massive casts, but nowhere near 1000.
Someday I'll read it, and I'll damn well follow it too. Or by god I'll die trying.

Well I bought it last week when I went to Barnes and Noble but I'm starting to chicken out on reading it.

Book 6 of The Morganville Vampire series, they're good. I'm waiting to read two ice skating books next.

The Good Guy by Dean Koontz.
I'm getting back into his books lately after reading The Watchers.

See I cannot feel this, not matter how you try and in the real world, there's no goodbyes.

yeah, you know. i'm nearly finished and as i've been reading it i've been a bit indifferent about it but now i'm coming to the end i'm all sad.
i read it on the tube the other day and there's a part where someone is describing the holocaust and it made me cry on the tube and people stared.
