Languages change all the time, though I suppose with that grammar guide you can't really go wrong. But yeah, just to say that language really isn't stagnant - new words evolve, people start using different expressions, sometimes new grammatical things. It's just how it goes.
(And I should know because my brother and I tend to play Scrabble on the basis of a dictionary from 1928. You'd be surprised.)
Eh, spelling changes but the use of a semicolon does't ( ithink?)
and my teachers are quite impressed when the girl who can't spell "eventually" (and other STUPIDLY smple words) hands in a paper that's spelled and punctuated to that standards, so its' good.
