Ugh. Too many pages to read >.< So forgive me if i'm repeating what others have said.
I do agree with what the OP has said. I basically look at the trigger labels to know what people are writing about.
e.g. ED trigger. Obvioulsy about ED's.
SI/OD Trigger. Obviously about si or an od.
And i'll avoid or read one or the others. But when you have someone posting and they're putting "trigger everything" and you read it and they're like "i had a bad day. the end." well.... it's a little stupid. Yes i'm overexagerating but yeah... anyways. I agree. I don't think they should all go. But there should be less than there are.
"Be who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind."
I like the suggestions, but the one concern I have is the use of multiple ones.
For example, in the ED forum, if I posted, say, about a bad day where in I restricted (1 label) and then later totally lost control and binged (second label) and then compensated (third label) which made me feel awful so I cut (forth label).
Where's the line drawn?

Reason: spelling
Basically....the only thing that makes me feel bad is EDs, therefor I dont go in the ED forum, basically. All of those labels like 'family' etc are just so redundant, people overuse the labels as it is. Like in SI discussion, all the threads in there say *triggering SI* and it just makes me think....who is going onto the boards and not expecting there to be posts about SI?!i dont get it, i dont even read the labels anymore.
There are times to stay put, and what you want will come to you.
But there are times to go out into the world and find such a thing for yourself.
I aint no abacus but you can count on me.
I agree re: overkill. We don't need zillions of labels, we need a label for the things that are actually going to be triggering. Some posts in SD do make me very shaky - but I do expect that, because it's SD.
Personally, I'm in favour of the mildly triggering/severely triggering in forums like SID, SD & ED. I just think they're nice and simple :) But I do understand everybodies concerns about the subjectivity of them.
no.
i don't like the labels. i don't understand what the point of "family" / "relationships" / "school" label is for. how is that going to prevent people from being triggered? it will only help in the organisation of posts which i think isn't necessary at all.
there are many on your list shadow-light which i think are unnecessary.
creative only needs SI/ED/sexual abuse/adult.
i think in gs&a the only one thats needed is adult for sex questions.
i don't see why anybody could be triggered by the moving forward board. all those posts ever say is "yay x days! i haven't cut/purged/etc for x time." i don't think labels are needed in there at all.
serious i think is okay except i would take out abuse/bullying because that should go in a&b, and if it's not the main focus then it probably doesn't need to be stated.
i don't get the "mental health" label/trigger warning at all, don't think it's needed. i don't think OD is needed either.
i can't speak for ed or mental health because i don't go in there/have no opinion/don't care.
SI needs suicide.
i just don't see why it seems like EVERY THREAD should have a label on it. we're not complete retards.
personally i think, SI trigger / suicide / eating disorder / abuse for serious pretty much covers all the bases.
Provided you go around this website expecting to come across 'triggering' content (Which you SHOULD) I believe the following is the most appropriate labels to have in each board.
I think labels have a duel purpose, while they are there to warn people against certain triggers, they should also be used to highlight the main purpose of the post, therefore attracting people with similar issues/experiences to read your post and offer their advice and share their experiences. This will in turn improve the level of support you should recieve.
Self-Injury Discussion and Support
Adult There is no need for an 'SI' label as this board is solely devoted to the discussion of SI, you should enter here expecting to come across 'triggering content'
Also, a 'work'/'employment' one should probably be in GSA, and of course Vets.
As a label to add on to posts? I think stuff like this is not needed, at all, just say so in the title of the post. You don't need a label for that "I have a problem with work" is eay enough to type.
why do we need labels about work and employment, I dont think Im getting this at all.

physical abuse
sexual abuse
emotional abuse
bullying
graphic
Graphic is not needed, in any forum. Currently the rules are so strict it's near impossible to get anytyhing graphic on here (Which I disagree with) The word 'abuse' isn't needed as it's pretty damn obvious.
I'm unsure whether 'bullying' is needed too, it's a forum of abuse. But I'm sure it would be alright if it was added.
I think 'vebral' should be added as it is also a form of abuse.
Basically.. I should've just said "Read ym post" instead of type all that, haha.

Yes, those labels are pointless and cluttering. Too many labels means people will zone them out, which is what eevryone is doing now. We need the labels to be short and concise.
verbal and emotional are generally interchangeable.. i know that technically there is a difference, but not that many people seem to realise and so many become interchangeable and those 3 are normally used as the "umbrella terms" in my experience.
I think bullying needs it's own label mainly as it may encourage more people to post on the topic (A lot of people have complained about this before as they feel almost unworthy due to all the SA posts)
