So... Russia is BOMBING Georgia now...

Great... Now when they invade, they'll have a territory full of burns victims.

War is silly. Cant they just settle it over a nice cup of tea?

This could be sorted quite easily without the need for victims. It's such an unfair fight as well. Was watching the news and getting so angry.
There really is no real need.

How many ticks left in that clockwork heart?

This is what happens when a country gets run by members of it's former secret service.

To be fair, I believe originally Russia was fully justified in intervening in South Ossetia when the Georgians began their invasion/genocide of the province.... 90% of the South Ossetians are Russian citizens... it's like imagining if the French started slaughtering English tourists on the beaches of Normandy... surely England would have the right to protect their people?

However, a full scale invasion of Georgia is unwarranted. The Russians have already prooved their point, and should gradually begin to withdraw, while setting up a DMZ to prevent the Georgian army surrounding the pocket of land which is South Ossetia and starting things all over again.....

Hope that made sense

Oh, and one thing that is really unwarranted is the Georgian premier bum-licking America/NATO.... Does the world REALLY want to see another Cold War/Cuban missile crisis? From the looks of things, it will be another Sarajevo 1914 once more (The assasination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand by Serb assasins which sparked the beginning of World War 2 when Austria + Germamy declared war on Russia for allying with Serbia)

This should be moved to news and debates IMHO

There's always loads of triggering reasons for conflict. However Georgia broke the camel's back...
