I hope you don't have to long left to wait.
What are you try to help ease the contractions?
I found walking around helped a lot, but with your back, i don't know if it would.
It's so easy to get lost in constantly having to present
whatever face you believe a person wants to see rather than your own
do you have a tens machine? That helped me in the early stages of labour right up until the pushing bit. I didn't think it was helping, until I took it off and the pain was a lot worse.
On a practical note, if you're in bed, sleep on a towel or two! that way you won't ruin your matress if your waters break.
or you can get maternity mats...i used those...and they use them in the hospital for your waters when they break or if they break them for you. how are you doing now?
im feeling depressed today, tried to get out with freyja today and it was a nightmare. love my baby more than anything but beginning to feel so trapped, i cant go anywhere she just screams and screams and screams.

they reckon don't go to hospital until you're in active labour - which can mean a few different things...
1) waters breaking
2) cervix 4cm dialated
3) contractions every 4 minutes, lasting 60secs in this pattern for at least 60mins.
have pm'ed you my mob number incase oyu need to contact us, can you pm me a number for you, mand x

^ that pisses me off. I went in, my waters had broken, I was SOAKING, I was in a lot of pain, but because I wasn't 4cm dilated and my contractions weren't 60secs long, they sent me home. By the time I was home I was pushing. I ended up in the local hospital (not the birthing centre where I wanted) and I got there with the head crowning and she was out 25mins later.
At least you went in though, it means the hospital is kept more informed etc. Do listen to their advice though and go in again if the contractions get worse. For handling the pain, personally i really didn't the TENs and didn't have it on long.

Berni I'm sorry your having such a hard time with the contractions and possibly not having the birth you want. It may be really hard to see at the moment but however bad things get it really will be worth all the grief and pains once you have your baby in your arms.
It's the same when people try scare you with horror stories of sleepless nights, teething, colic and all the rough times. Yes they happen but nobody prepares you for just how proud you feel with each 1st they achieve and every smile and cuddle they give you.
It's so hard not to laugh when you tell them no so they point at you as if to say I'm not listening coz I want to eat the dvd's so hush.
Being a mum has made me the happiest I've ever been.
unless your dates are wrong (scans can be upto 20days wronge either side of the date they give)!!
yeah my waters broke and i wasn't having contractions... and they were about to send me home, decided to swab me for infection and 'OMG you're 4cm lets get you to main delivery!'

Remember Mothercare do a nursery deal where you can pay in instalments, so you could pay the first one of two until you perhaps got your money back. You can use slings if need be though :)

im currently 12 weeks pregnant and for the past however any weeks i have felty so sick i have been unable to eat, i am been having one childs portion offood a day and now i feel so hungry i feel sick but nothing can satisfy it,
its almost as though im craving something but i dont know what! can anybody help please?
Hehe isn't pregnancy fun? :-P Makes your body go haywire lol.
You'll probably find that your cravings will make themselves known in time... when I felt like that I used to walk up and down every aisle in the supermarket looking for things I really fancied eating. Try that, and I'm sure oyu'll find something that'll do the job!
lol i didnt really get cravings but if i saw cake on tv or someone mentioned cake (like birthday cake) it really set me off! i was just like mmmm cake!!!! other than that i once had a craving for fortune cookies, had a bit of a craving for baileys for a while (lol craving alcoholic drinks isnt too good) and then i went through a wee phase of milk chews. loved em.

thanks, i cant help but feel im the most rubbish pregnant person ever, i dont no what my body wants, my temperature keeps flaring up so i rest and it goes down n then i practically just blink and its back up, and i have constant pain in my tummy either cramping or god knows what else!
lol you're not the worst pregnant person ever, you are just like the rest of us when pregnant! i was sick as a dog until 12 weeks, couldnt even look at dishes on the drainer. i was falling asleep everywhere. my hormones were going nuts and i was feeling so happy and excited one minute then so depressed the next, but was afraid to tell anyone as i was convinced they would take my baby away from me. i spent most of my pregnancy off work as i was ill physically or mentally. and i worked in a target driven environment and had to deal with the embarrassment of being named and shamed each week when the team stats came out and i was consistently the only team member not reaching their targets. nightmare.
the pain in your tummy, have you spoken to your gp?

Morning sickness, it's horrible! I was constantly ill from 6 weeks to about 17 or 18 weeks and still became ill easily throughout :( For some reason, the easiest thing for me to keep down was tomato soup, toast and cola (on doctor's advice!!). Oh i don't miss pregnancy lol.

Laura, don't worry about it so much, you'll probably find that in a few weeks your body will settle down a bit. The first three months are really hard, I don't miss that stage at all!
