As far as I know it's OK as long as you don't do it all the time. Running two packs together once in a while doesn't do any harm. I'm not an expert though and that's just what I know from friends.
I think i was told with my pill that running two packs together is fine and something about no more than that and not too often. I may be completely wrong as it was something that was said to me when i started my pill years ago and havent had the need to ask again about running packs together.
Perhaps next time you are at your doctor getting more of it, bring it up?
yup that is fine, i think it even mentions it in the info leaflet that it is ok!
they used to say something like you should have at least 4 periods a yr so to keep you from developing problems with sterility but believe they have since believed this to be rubbish.
there are some pills that you dont get a period with at all so you could always enquire about that when next at dr's???
this pic is so i can always remember jen who was my l'il sock monkey friend who has left ryl and i miss her!!!
I agree with the above. Certainly I'd talk to your doctor about it, and wouldn't do it consecutively for too long. I skip some because of my iron levels (and, cause I can haha!) but I did so only after speaking to my doctor regarding it.
I take my pill three packs in a row because of bad anaemia. there is no problem with it, except on the psychological side. some women feel terrible with missing their period.
hiya im on the cycle pill, the normal pill but i take 3 packets (3months worth) without a break then have a 7day break n my gp said its fine, but it can mess up your next period, beth x

^Yes...this would be me...I get pregnancy paranoia...:P
OO, well i've been advised for medical reasons to take my next three packs without a break, so yeah, i would make a guess that its ok but not advisable constantly. i get horrid pains when im on, but feel freaking trrible when i dont get for a while..WEIRD me.

I guess it depends what kind of pill you take and of your personally physical traits like regularity of your period or something like that (not that sure what my gyn had explained to me).
You know, I even should take the pill non stop because of my enometriosis problems (and I take the pill only for that reason, anyway).
But what is really important to know: You won't recognise that easily if you get pregnant because sometimes it could happen that you don't get a period at all if you don't make a break like you're supposed to do with your pill.
Normally, you don't get pregnant when you take a pill but it could happen.
Perhaps someone else could explain better what I want to say .
Please ask your gyn before you try to experiment with taking your pill because it depends on your type of pill if you may do this and what the effects are.

There are people who like never have their period and take it continuously for years and years.
Does no damage but just seems gross to me!
It doesn't matter if you have all the people in the world to talk to, you still have to find the strength to say in words, what you would normally say on your skin
The directions for taking any medicine are there for a reason, and I would not change that before talking to a doctor. Many medications have serious side-effects if not taken properly.
Many doctors will tell you it's ok to use your birth control to skip a period once in a while, and there are even pills designed to be taken for 3 months straight without a period.
If you want to do this it's a good idea to call your doctor and see if it can be done with the pill you are on, the higher dose pills can cause more side effects sometimes if taken this way.
Also, you will be short a week of pills so it's a good idea when you speak with your doc to get an extra pack or find out how your doc wants you to deal with the extra week since going 2 weeks without any pills may mean that you need to use another kind of protection after you restart the pills (did that make sense?)
If this is something you want to do often there are kinds of birth control designed to alter your periods, Seasonalle (the US name) is a pill that is designed for you to only have 4 periods a year, and Depo Provera (an injection) stops your periods completley.
Well it breaks my heart to see you this way,
The beauty in life, where's it gone?
And somebody told me you were doing okay,
Somehow I guess they were wrong.
