Today i had a bad experience in Health and feel really unhappy. we were discussing depression and what not and he called me and 2 other kids up(we all kinda dress emo/ gothic) and told us to stand up infront of the class, so we did. Then he asked the class bluntly if any of us SI (2 of us do, but no one said anything). i thought that teachers were caring, wouldnt this just make things worse. I still cant believe this. Its so sad. I feel really bad about myself now.
That's horrid, i can't believe a teacher would do that, firstly for pandering to stereotypes, and secondly for teaching/discussing a subject that they clearly know nothing about..
Sorry, this is a bit of a pointless response, but i'm really sorry you had to go through that.. *hugs* Try not to let it get you down hun, it's not worth it (i realise it's easier said than done)
PM me if you need anything

What your teacher did was horrible *safe hugs* I'm not sure that is entirely "allowed" anyway - but if it carries on, it may be worth mentioning his behavior to your headteacher/principal. Take care love,
i can't believe they would do that... people just can't seem to stop stereotyping sometimes...and that was a really personal question that he really had no business asking. *hug* take care xx
that's awful! we're not even allowed to discuss SI at my school because of stereotypes and the school thinks that by discussing it it would be promoting SH. honey i think you should talk to your principal about it, or at least to a teacher that you trust or the school counsellor. they should be able to do something about it to stop it happening again.
honey even though it was an awful experience try not to let it get you down. you shouldnt feel bad, its your teacher who should. you know from here that there are a lot more people who SI than what you'd think. dont let this awful man get to you. he's not worth it *cuddles*
take care sweetheart.
oh my god! hun you HAVE to report it to someone!! maybe just another teacher you like if you'd rather not bring it up with the principle. not only is that blatent discrimination its also really mean and rude! he was totally out of line hun
Even as the stone of the fruit must break
that its heart may stand in the sun,
so must you know pain.
There are only two ways in which one can live their life. One is as though nothing is a miracle, the other is as though everything is.
You can definately report that and I'd think it would be the best thing to do, not only so they are punished or whatever for this time but also so that nothing like this goes on in the future (or at least is less likely to).
thats awful!! make sure you tell someone at the school that you trust.
i think it is important that sh be discussed in health classes as it is becoming very common and i think that it would be an oppotunity to stamp out htose steriotypical comments that people have. although they shouldnt make anyone feel uncomfortable-especially NOT stand you up in front of the class!!! (and i prob wouldnt have died if anyone at school would have brought it up-but i do think its important!)
take care sweetie xx
this pic is so i can always remember jen who was my l'il sock monkey friend who has left ryl and i miss her!!!
