wow she has nice hair! lucky you - she came early and the labor sounds like it was a breeze (relatively speaking)! i was laughing at the part where the midwife was like "i haven't even got my gloves on yet! wait!" i hope you and Matt and Chloe Marie are all doing really well now :) no more jaundice allowed!
Dicky:
That is no nurse... that's Sarai the midwife. She is an angel from God. When Chloe woke up after the first night, jaundiced, fractious and ravenous from not feeding it was Sarai that took her away from me so I didn't meltdown completely. Hearing your baby cry like that is so hard. Then Sarai and Sarah an auxilary nurse helped me to express and syringe feed colostrum and top-up with formula. She is lovely and yes... very hot!
Raven:
I think you are in labour my girl. If you go get checked out they may well give you some co-codamol for the pain and let you go home with a few doses to keep the pain at bay until you are in established labour. Unfortunaltey your labour already sounds more painful and drawn out than mine. Do not eat heavily - you will be sick on the gas and air, drink plenty of water and get a nice cushion to sit on so your bum is on it but your 'front' is hanging off (a rubber ring is really good!).
One of the worst parts is the stitches. Drink far too much water (it helps with breastfeeding anyway) and it dilutes your wee so it doesn't sting so much. I'm on the 6th day, I can touch and wash the stitches now, only minimal stinging when using the toilet and its mostly when sitting down/getting up than when actually 'going'. Oooh - toptip... try sitting sideways on the loo... it supports you a lot better. And the only way you can rip your stitches is by having another baby. Coughing, pooing, sititng up too fast, standing up/sitting down... it just feels bad coz your muscles are moving. If you heal with no muscles moving then you will be very stiff and are likely to rip when doing normal stuff.
baby still slightly jaundiced but it is clearing, midwife says it will just take a few days to clear. mand x

"Be nice. Think happy thoughts. Champion silver linings. Love all things (not just cute things like babies and kittens) & when you do love - love like they do in power ballads (you know like on a cliff with the wind in your hair and your eyes shut, knowing you'll never know love like this). Watch out for dog poo. Smile at people - even grumpy ones. Remember anything is possible & whatever you do always try to look on the bright side."
