[Queer Fringe]

Yeah, this just came into my head the other day...

Stanley

I use my compass,
a make shift for stanley,
effects will wear off,
but he's my family,
stanleys my friend,
he's always there,
when I'm in danger,
I wont share,
People wont see,
he's the best,
no-one knows,
his body I caress,
it is he I chose,
to perfect my life,
to heal me when,
There's trouble and strife,
So I used my compass,
the effect had gone,
I got out stanley,
and then he shone.
Stanleys my blade,
he's always there,
he brings the danger,
But you don't care.

it's the fact you wonder who stanley is.... i really wasn't expecting that

The Office

She gazes at me,
Waiting for me to flinch,
But little does she know,
I won’t move an inch.

They all saw my scars,
That attempted to go,
Now here I am in an office,
The real emotions I never wanted to know.

“What is wrong?” she will ask,
She wouldn’t understand anything I say,
“You can tell us anything”
“I’m fine, just go away”

Drip drip,
The withered tree,
Drip drip,
Don’t look at me.

Drip drip,
The mutilated arm,
Drip drip,
I don’t mean you any harm.

Imagine you were me,
For just one day,
Wake up early,
Pretend everything is okay,
Go to school,
Emotions low as usual,
Don’t get happy,
‘Cause you know you’ll fall,
Friends ditch you,
For other peers,
There’s no particular reason,
Say hello to your fears,
You get home,
Find the sharpest object,
Run it across your wrist,
As a brief reflect,
Cry yourself to sleep every night,
‘Cause you know what you have to live with,
You never want to feel better,
You know God won’t forgive.

So how does it feel?
Slowly dieing on the inside,
You won’t get better,
Too embarrassed to confide.

These lines,
They last a lifetime,
Some thin, some fat,
Some for every crime

You’ll see them when you wake up,
You’ll see them when you sleep,
You’ll see them in your dreams,
They’ll be there when you weep,

These lines,
Are your only friends,
Always there and caring,
Relief they always send,

These lines,
Will be here forever,
Some new, some old,
They are what hold me together,

Now finally the skin is apart,
I can see inside,
I am feeling better now,
They won’t have to hide.

Permanent bracelets,
Purple and raw,
I think they’re scars,
I’m not quite sure,

Permanent bracelets,
Red with rage,
Get deeper and deeper,
Through every stage,

Permanent bracelets,
Cold with fear,
Now I know,
My arms aren’t clear,

Permanent bracelets,
Fading away, please don’t go, I want you to stay.

I look at this mutilation,
That has spread like a disease.
And I find all this frustration,
Just get rid of it please.

I cannot see a happy ending here,
There is just no future in my mind,
I feel I am living in fear,
The fear of leaving everyone behind.

Misunderstood


What is wrong with her?
The problems have gone away,
I thought we fixed everything,
That’s what they all say,

They let her go home,
For just one day,
Check on her in the morning,
See if she’s okay?

The blade gets blunt,
As her cuts get deeper,
She hopes to hide it,
But gets weaker and weaker,

So she walks into the rusty gates,
Hiding blood stained clothes and tear stained cheeks,
People look concerned,
But its not help she seeks,

She says she’s fine,
Just feels a bit ill,
Another day later,
She’s unhappy still.

They investigate more,
Everyone keeping an eye out,
Why when the day ends,
She tends to hang about?

This is her comfort zone,
She’s protected from herself here,
She’s not alone,
Therefore not in fear.

The last poem really speaks to me. They are all intense and filled with powerful emotion. Wonderful job. These are amazing. I wish I could write like that. Your style is just incredible

I agree that you have a great style of writing. I particularly love the last poem. I'm glad you posted them for us to read. When you've got enough you may one day think about getting them published : )

The Red Nail varnish


The red nail varnish that wont dry
drips down my shirt
people all look at me
as if I'm hurt.

I say I'm fine
and run out of the room
people follow
they tell me they will get me help soon.

was not nail varnish
It made me die.
