I am currently:
General Medical Question - Urgent - Drawing Blood.

Lately I've been cutting more and drawing blood *edit* ..then writing my thoughts down in blood with the *edit*, like a pen >.<. I have no clue how much blood I've lost or drawn in combination from cutting and this but I'm feeling like I'm gonna pass out, shakey, slow. How can I tell if I've lost too much blood, what should I do if I think I have..I see the shrink Tuesday but I don't know if I should mention this to them, or they might admit me again.

But er, yeah. What are the risks of excessive blood loss and what should I do to counteract it, etc.

Thanks,
Matt

The best thing to do is to stop loosing blood. If you are feeling sick, shaky, light headed, short of breath, nauseous or like you are going to pass out you need to go and get checked by a doctor as soon as possible.

There is very little that you personally can do to counteract blood loss except to rest a lot, keep yourself hydrated and eat a balanced diet with some extra protein and iron thrown in. A doctor will be able to do more for you by testing to see if you are anemic or if you need IV fluids.

Since you are already feeling sick I STRONGLY suggest not doing anything that will cause you to loose more blood for a while, and going and seeing your doctor.

Well it breaks my heart to see you this way,
The beauty in life, where's it gone?
And somebody told me you were doing okay,
Somehow I guess they were wrong.

Hi!

i can relate.

I think that in addition to possibly suffering from shock, you may also be suffering from an iron deficiency...that can cause the symptoms you described...but that would be due to too much blood loss. So really you should take a LONG break from drawing up blood like 3-4 months or so so you can get your blood fully replaced, and maybe it might be a good idea to take iron supplements ((???))......
