discovering your sexuality and SI

hi..um i just wanted to know whether any of you have or had problems of SI'ing that relate to your "coming out".

i just wanted to know for some help. I've been SI'ng for a while now and i think that i have been doing it because i was unhappy about who i was... i'm still having trouble now.

...but anways i just wanted to noe if ur SI'ng related to anything like this so thanks!

i first started when i was 13.
i was trying to cut the gay out =]

same deal here. Was confused because of gender identity (sometimes I feel like a boy) and sexuality (I swing both ways, went hand in hand with the fluid gender identity) I dressed as a boy for 2 years and went by my last name (which conveniently enough is also a boys first name). Also started cutting at around this time, partially influenced by my internal confusion as well as some other stuff that was going on. (Basically I told my bff at the time that I might like girls, she, and other girls, started kicking my butt everyday, I continued to punish myself when they werent, felt I deserved it)

that was the long answer, sorry. but yeah, totally get where you're coming from. coming out is a process, and I think everyone goes about it in their own way, if you ever need to talk about it, PM me <3

I definitely think there's a connection between confusion about sexuality and SI. Almost all the gay/bi people i know have done/do selfharm.

hmm....i'm heterosexual but the people i like i shouldn't and it causes society to condemn me for it so i understand why being gay/bi would make you SI. people just can't relate to how you can like something that they don't, it's so narrow minded and just causes harm. you shouldn't blame and punish yourself for the way you are though. i think there definetely is a connection because it's all to do with condemning yourself for not living up to society and everyone else's expectations...

thank you... i guess i do have some gender identity issues and stuff like that.. when i was about 8 i wondered why i HAD to be a girl... i thought boys had it easier and that it was what i was meant to be, a boy.
