Letter To Doctors?

I Know I have wrote this in general advice but i thought i would ask here as well...

How Would You go about writing a letter to the doctors? what would you say if you wanted help? what if she breaks the confidentialty rules and tell ma mam? she cant do that can she but what if she reacts badly?

Basically im asking advice on what to write? how to give it to my doctor?

If you are a minor I think she could tell your mom but I'm not sure. Whatever the condifentiality laws are she cant break.

You should try to answer the following questions in your letter:
What do I want help with?
What am I feeling thats making me want to seek out help?
Why you dont want your mom to know? how would you feel if she did know?
Are you in need of immediate help?

Can you give it to your doctor in person? If you dont want to or cant get to your doctor in person, see if she has an email address or mail it to her office. If you send the letter by email or mail make sure to include your contact information, whether its through email or whatever else, since you dont want your mom to know about it.

I would explain to them what's going on; the feelings you're experiencing, how you've been coping, and say to them that you want some help with it all!

As the poster above said, don't forget to include your contact details so the doctor will be able to get in touch with you. I'm not sure on the details of confidentiality however as it depends how old you are and such.

as others have said. doctors cannot break confidentiality laws.
if you're a minor they can tell your mum only if they think you are a severe and immediate danger to yourself or others. if you're not they can't tell anyone and would section you if they thought that.
if i were you i'd make an appointment with your doctor, write the letter and say something like 'i found this hard to put into words/ i knew i wouldnt be able to explain properly' and just give it them.

include:
how long its been going on for-SI and low feelings
changes in eating + sleeping patterns
causes you can think of
what you'd like to happen in terms of support
