Work was absolute hell! About as busy as the food festival (which was awful) but we just weren't prepared for it! Total insanity. And I stayed an extra hour because I couldn't leave them like that

Thanks Beckie! I'm seeing my sister tomorrow to help her baby prep and then out for dinner which I'm nervous about, then meeting a friend for coffee and picking some leggings I ordered up on Sunday. So busy but hopefully nice bits.
Oh god, poor you Beckie! I bet it's a result of the warmer weather and a bit of sun - my flatmate decided to go out to a pub garden this evening and I bet a lot of others will have too. Glad it's over now though! Well done for getting through it - hopefully you sleep well after all that!

It was honestly the worst shift I've done in the 2½ years I've worked there! There was no room ANYWHERE in the glasswash for glasses. So for ages we couldn't even take glasses out of the washers because the trays were all full of other glasses! So the dirty glasses were just piling up everywhere!
Yes, it will be the warmer weather. First sign of warmth and the whole of the UK decide to head off to the pub XD

Bloody hell that sounds intense! I'm so sorry but well done you for surviving it! Yup you're not wrong - bit of sun usually equals pub time. I can't really do pubs any more with health stuff so this summer is gonna be a bit ****. Oh no, poor you being back there again tomorrow! Good luck!!
And there was a young girl just joined and it was her first shift! Bless her! I was extra nice to her to not only make her feel welcome, but to make sure she knows that it's not always like this and everyone isn't usually this stressed! She did well.
I remember my first shift being on a peak summer food festival, so I know what it's like.
I'm sure you can find other fun summery things to do! Pub culture is a huge thing in the UK though tbh.

Blimey what a first shift! At least it'll be relatively plain sailing from there on in. Good of you to be extra nice of her, that must have been quite the introduction! Yeah I'll have to find other things but like.. I'll miss it. :(
