Self harm and self care

I recently had a realisation that I self harm because it’s the only way I can justify looking after myself- if I sh I feel like I can then take care of it
Does this make sense to anyone? Can anyone relate or is it just me? How can I deserve care in a good way,

I have struggled with showing myself self care in the past. The only time I showed myself self care was looking after my cuts in the past. I am afraid that idk the answer but you are not alone.

I think just knowing that you *always* deserve care is important, and forcing yourself to do it even when everything in you is telling you not to.

Because it's true, every human, animal, tree, living being, deserves to care for themselves. It's just a fact.

I hope you can try to see that it's true for you too. You are worth caring for.

I am struggling with self care too. But a psychologist once suggested that i ask myself at random times what i would like right now. It can be anything. From a short break to browse facebook, or a coffee or maybe just a vaping break. She asked me to not just ask myself what i want or need during difficult times but at every other random time as Well. It has actually helped me a lot by being able to pay attention to what i need in the moment. And to understand that i have needs that are worth listening to as Well.
