Well... I think she should go to see a doctor, I know it's something a bit embarrasing to do in those situations but, she can't solve it herlself...It could be dangerous...

Anyway, if she doesn't want to get professional help, she could talk about her problem with her mum (which is a bit embarrasing too, but not as much as talking with a doctor)

Tbh, none of us can really say to her what to do because we don't know her problem with her ovaries or if that would affect it or not.
She needs to go and talk to her gp about it.

A 6 day period is pretty normal, to be honest. What is it that worries her about that?

And yeah, the best thing would be for her to see a GP. None of us know anything about her ovaries so we can't give you much advice.

6 days is a normal length for a period to last.
Depending on the problems with her ovaries we can't say how having the thing in her arm will affect her.
She needs to talk to her GP.

I assume you mean the implant. This would be carried out by Drs. who would give her the side effects and so on. Talking to them about the possibility of the implant is unlikely to make them look at her 'bits' especially as they wont be able to see her ovaries from there.

the implant doesnt necessarily stop periods. i had the implant in for 6 months, and i bled for 3 weeks at a time. i also had problems with my ovaries, though i didnt know it at the time. but she needs to discuss it with her gp definately.

Firstly give her a hug and tell her it's fine. Doctors will give her the inplant and it dosen't always stop your pierods (Trust me i have it and have monthly bleeds) She needs to talk to her GP if she is worried and she can also ask for a female GP and can take a family member or friend aswell.

No need to worry, just reasure her.

If it makes you not have your period, doesn't that mean that while you have the implant you won't be able to have kids? I mean, no period, no kids.
Even though she doesn't like having doctors look at her down there, it's a really good thing to have done like once a year... Has she ever had it done? I didn't want to have it done either, but then I did and my doctor was really nice. It's not as bad as she thinks!

it isnt nice having internal examinations but it is something women have to go through. i understand completely, i have a lot of issues with that sort of thing due to my history, but it doesnt alter the fact that it is necessary for cervical health.
if it is relating to her ovaries, an internal is not always needed anyway. i didnt have any internal when i had my ovaries investigated, i had an ultrasound scan.
as someone said earlier, 6 days is pretty average for a period too so try to reassure her of that.

I agree that a visit with a doctor would be the best bet for her. She can always just explain things to her doctor if she doesn't feel comfortable having an exam yet and talk to her doctor about possible resolutions to her problem until she gets comfortable enough to be examined.

But really, her best bet is to talk to her doctor about this. None of us are professionals and everyone has different reactions to different methods of contraception, which is what the implant is.

hey,

probably wise, like most have said in the thread, if she has a word with her doc.

6 days is pretty normal. Mine are longer than that [and are heavy and painful >.<]

she could speak to her doctor about going on the pill and other things. none of us are really qualified to give such adivce.

has she ever had an internal examination? Reassure her that doctors/ nurses do it all the time. It's something they are trained to do. And women's examinations are better than mens [seriously] my friend told me his wasn't pleasant [i won't go into detail for what they do to men]

take care
stay safe

She could go on birth control to make her periods lighter and shorter. She should go to the GP and discuss it with them though.
