Reasons for living.
I'm struggling to find reasons to live. I have a very full life, I just can't seem to appreciate it.
I'm incredibly lucky but the darkness feels like it's taking over my life. I don't know how to keep going.
How do you make yourself see reasons for living and make yourself appreciative of things?
Thanks - sorry this is quite disjointed. X

When I've felt this way, I've written on paper what I have going on, not how I feel about it, just what I have, and stuck it up around my flat. It's not much help, but it does help to have it up when I try think to myself in a dark place what I have, and can't think of anything.
Have that, or a happy book, with picture of friends, messages from them, pictures of animals, stuff from the things you enjoy, or "enjoy".
I don't know how to get rid of that feeling that it's all meaningless, though. Or have to find joy in something that you know you should like, but that feeling's just not there.
Sometimes it's just taking a step back and looking at it from a distance.

It's just like Rilic said, think about the things you enjoy in life, I enjoy a cup of tea, egg on toast & cider, & I wouldn't have that if I died.
I've had times where I've hated life & hated living before, because I feel so anxious & even terrified at times, especially being in crowds, or lots of noise, sometimes the only way never to experience that again would be death.
But time does help, only thing that really helps me.

I think therefore I ambient.

I think I'm probably different to you Harbour. I'm not overcome by darkness, but terror mainly.
I do have things that I like in life, but I get overcome by all the horrible things that happen to people in the world, & worry too much it's going to happen to me, pretty much every day. But you seem to have lost all zest for life, there must be something in life you like doing, that makes you happy.

I try to remember that it gets better. It always does, at the most unexpected times, when we're convinced that everything is broken.
I like to record my 'positives' for the day; my girlfriend and I keep lists on our phones that are shared with each other and it makes sure whatever happens in a day we take some time to look for those positives, even when sometimes it takes a sizeable effort to think of even two or three. Maybe that would be something that could be helpful for you?
Sending hugs and I'm sorry things are tricky at the moment.
