I've met many British people (mostly online) who were very soured against Americans for really (well, I'd call them really) dumb reasons, such as, "They destroyed the Queen's English" or "They are all fat and stupid". This was especially coming from some British people who had never been to America.
I found that to be really sad.
Since then, I've met many more British people who were absolutely awesome, sweet as pie, and could care less that I was American. I've become very, very good friends with them to the point where I now have plans to visit the UK and hopefully meet them. :)
So, I mean, yeah, some Europeans really do dislike Americans. But if someone dislikes you because you are American, then they are not worth your time and they are a disgrace to their own country. I believe as people of *earth* we are all supposed to be kind and welcoming to everyone regardless of nationality because we are all from planet earth.
