Pumpkin Shopping

Hit a roadside farmer's market for some pumpkins, gourds and Indian corn and grapes.

Ha ha that's awesome.

Personally I love a good pumpkin soup.

Humm...don't think I ever had one but I would probably like one. I'll have to make a gustatory investigation.

^ Homemade it's really good, please do get back to us with your evaluation-my second favourite soup after leek and potato.

Thanks - my photo skills are only interesting in autumn. Taking photos in summer is hard lol

The Skeletons with banjos were moving to "Dueling Banjos" theme. The skeletons would move, and the music play when you moved next to them.

There are lots of farms around that let people pick their own pumpkins but the ticks are deadly around here.

One local restaurant always tries to get the largest giant pumpkin it can. One year they had a 1500 pound pumpkin. One night someone hacked it open to steal the seeds.

Here are some pics of it

The restaurant in the photo is a block away from the Jack-o-lantern Blaze event (7000 carved pumpkins) so they get on the bandwagon with biggest pumpkin they can find. They have competitions to guess the weights. If Cinderella has a pumpkin that big she could have put wheels on it and made it a coach

Glad you like'em

Saw a pic of new Blaze installation. They used pumpkins to make model of Tappan Zee Bridge (in Tarrytown/Sleepy Hollow). They call it "Pumpkin Zee Bridge". A new Tappan Zee bridge is being built next to the old one (largest current infrastructure project in US) and you can see both from Sleepy Hollow football field

I love seeing your photos towards autumn, especially around Halloween :) please keep sharing!

Have you ever looked fear in the face and said "I just don't care"?

Ok..you've all been warned lol. Heading into main seasonal activities this week. Blaze on Thursday and then parades, hayrides etc. We've been going through a drought so the leaves are bit on the dry and brown side. Pumpkins are running a little smaller. That's ok - people just buy more of the smaller (and cheaper) ones. Seeing more clusters this year..

Some friends carved these up...

Saw this pumpkin on Facebook and thought it was funny
