General Studies AS Level
Just curious if anyone has done general studies at AS Level? I am in exam year at the moment for GCSE's and can take general studies AS level early if I wish. I won't be carrying on to do the A2 level but I'm wondering if it's worth doing?
I could come out with A grades or E grades, it really just depends on the topics that come up. Has anyone else taken general studies? If so, is it easy enough to do? Is it worth doing to have something extra on my CV? And if I do happen to get D grades in the exams and A's in all the rest of my exams, will it affect how my grades come across to possible employers in the future?

I did it because I had to. I attended one lesson in the whole year and got a B. Wouldn't have done it if I hadn't have had to because it's not recognised by most universities (because you can get a B without attending lessons). Do it if you'd like to, but don't stress about it.

Barely anywhere counts General Studies for UCAS points, so it's barely worth doing it at all.

Oh right, okay. Seeing as it's not recognised or that important I probably won't end up doing it.
Thankyou both for the help! x

I was forced into doing it by my college (god knows why, we were made to take 5 A levels including general studies) and it really is not worth doing. Lots of unis don't count it when working out your UCAS points and no employer I've ever met has asked about that subject/grade. Personally, if you don't need to take it then you're better choosing another A level related to the type of career you want/degree you want to take.

I had to do it, I didn't sit all of the exams but still got a decent grade. I don't bother putting it on my CV any more as no one counts it.
I personally wouldn't do it early, focus on your GCSE's.
