How the dog found a place in the family home
From Cambridge media:
"How the dog found a place in the family home – from the Victorian age to ours "
Dogs have been companions to humans for tens of thousands of years. In a new book, Dr Philip Howell argues that it was the Victorians who ‘invented’ the modern dog with a place at the heart of the family. But, as some dogs became pets, others became pests.

I'm not in New York City (the suburbs). Dogs are very popular in both the city (poop baggies are key) and the burbs. Instead of having kids, lots of people get into their pets. Signs of dog mania are everywhere. Upper class people have their toy dogs and lower classes have their war dogs. I've always liked dogs but don't need one of my own when so many others have them. Its always fun to play with the pets and children of others and then leave when they get grouchy.
