I have already put down a deposit for a Christmas meal and hopefully on Monday I shall put my deposit for a second. This is the first year I have been invited to two christmas meals, and I have been invited for a christmas night out.

I havent done my Christmas shopping yet, but I have been researching what Christmas cards to buy. I buy charity christmas cards, last year I went for the MS society because a relative died of MS. But I have been coveting cards from the MS society, National Autistic Society, Cats Protection and Queen Foundation for Disabled people. The Cats Protection one is easy, because I have to buy cat christmas cards, and I will have to buy some non cat christmas cards because I have a few people who wouldnt appreciate cat christmas cards. But I am stuck which designs to buy because I quite like a few. I plan to go Christmas card shopping this week.

I bought all my christmas card online today! Insig, did you see the owl cards from the national autistic society? They were some of the ones I bought :)

I also have a srs bsns spreadsheet for christmas cards, which makes me happy because anytime I make a spreadsheet I feel like an organisational pro :P

I've just done a happy dance as i had enough nectar points saved up so i could get £10 off a pair of DC trainers for my partner lol

tree goes up 1st December. Cant wait for the house to be all Christmassy

That's one thing I haven't done. I can't not have an advent calendar so I'll have to get one today.

There are times to stay put, and what you want will come to you.
But there are times to go out into the world and find such a thing for yourself.
I aint no abacus but you can count on me.

Not as much as mine does when we we order car parts online. (I'm not talking about windshield wipers either, more like brakes and stuff)

All this reminds me that we still have last year's Christmas cake (less one slice eaten by Harley) in an airtight tin in the cool. We made it after I found a recipe which seemed to suggest that it should be about 50% fruit and alcohol - and we certainly followed that rule. But in the event it sort of got forgotten what with everything else ...

I believe it's recommended that a cake like this should be allowed to "mature". I'll go and look at it presently and report further.

Tony (salivating slightly).

Never surrender.

Yes I did see them because I received a Christmas card catalogue from the National Autistic Society. I went christmas card shopping and bought ones to benefit all the charities that I previously mentioned except for the National Autistic Society because simply they didnt have the ones I wanted in the local Cards for good causes.

I decided in the end to get two different cat ones, one to benefit the Queen Elizabeth Foundation for Disabled People, and one to benefit the Cats Protection. I dont envisage myself buying any more Christmas cards (except to my parents and my brother) though.

I have bought one of my Secret Santa presents. I bought some very nice chocolate biccies from M&S.

I have already got my 2015 diary and put the calendar I want in my Amazon wishlist. In fact I have told everyone to buy stuff off my amazon wishlist.

My tree goes up the first weekend in December. I have cat baubles!

Was my family the only family to wait until closer to christmas to put up the tree?

We also left it up for the twelve days of christmas too! Most people I know take it down the day after or something.

No, my parents don't tend to put theirs up until mid-December. J and I will probably put ours up a bit earlier than that as we go to stay with my parents over Christmas, so if we left it that late we'd barely be around to see it!

At my parents place, the Christmas tree was never allowed to go up til after my birthday (Dec 16th). Now that I've left home, I'm not sure that they still follow that rule.
