Loads of people are having problems with chat at the moment. Look at this thread and this one alongside quite a lot of others on this board and that may help you to not only seethe extent of the problem but also help you to find out different reasons for it and ways to potentially resolve your problem.

i think i found the problem. its adobe flash player i think i needed to update it. read about updates in one of the links to those threads you gave me. hopefully it solves the problem. thanks :)

There's no outstanding issues with chat itself and I'm in there right now.
What happens when you try to load chat? what does it say?

Ohh. That's a problem with your computer/browser. Have you tried the trouble shooting chat thread?
What browser are you using?

i did a spybot search and destroy... that cleared all tracking cookies etc..

Could you try clearing all the cookies for RYL and the Cache?
Alternatively, could you try Chrome?
