Got resectioned for another year on Thursday can't beilve I been resectioned didnt think I needed to be can't face the idea of being in hosptial for another year

Hey,

My section 3 was reviewed and renewed for a year, but i was discharged three months later. so the section lasts UP TO a year, it might not necesserily be another full year you have to stay there for, i hope this helps a bit :) x

Theres nothing to say that the section has to run its course, they can be revoked.

Could you talk to your team and see what your treatment plan to move forwards from this point is?

same here! i was resectoned for a year and didnt have to do that long.
think its the rule isnt it? that you have 2 consecutive S3s and then you go onto a year S3?
so it definitely doesnt mean you'll definetely be in there another year!

That's good I may not have to stay for the year lets hope I don't I cud not bear to be here that long! I'm getting wound up already and want to leave

How long you been there?! Have they given you any advice on where you need to be before you can go home?

I know youwant to leave but remember there were patients like J who had been there for a ling time and was really ill but now she's out and doing really well! !
And some of the others as well so its defintely worth sticking it out and staying there and therres more chance that when you leave you'll definey stay out :)

have you askd them about Hill End again yet?

Been here 12 months no chance getting out have asked about hill end G said to high risk for there Dr O my pysc wants me to stay in unit due to risk and other factors to do with mental health/health

I can't imagine, that would be so difficult for you. Did you tell the psych how you felt about that?

Massive hugs! That's not set it stone. They've probably said that so you don't get your hopes up

I told him I was not happy but I did get extra leave to go gym and see my sister for 4hrs Nxt sat which I'm very happy about!

I agree if you have another year possibly on section how can you use it to get yourself well.

I have only spent a month in hospital so can't imagine being in for the time scales you've talked about but I guess I would be wondering what you could do to help you head towards discharge. I don't know what you are in for and whether you've done things like a wellness recovery action plan but maybe you could sit down with your key worker and think about what you could work towards and so on.

Hi, I can kind of relate to how you're feeling. I've been on section (apart from 3 weeks) since 2012. My section expires in August and if it gets renewed it will be for up to a year.

I was just wondering is there specific therapy whilst you are there? Do you have groups? Like random.swirls said something like the wellness recovery action plan or the recovery star might be helpful.

We do have groups everyday and go on group leave for 2hrs once a week.
