Overdose/ Self-Poisoning Question - Overdose and puking
I took a [removed drug] overdose and feel quite sick, would it be sufficient enough to induce puking the pills up to get them out of my system (took them about an hour ago), have decided I don't want them in my system

Why is it impractical? Seriously the only way is to get yourself checked out. If it's a question of transport then nobody will moan at you for getting an ambulance.

That's a little rude? And I do know that, I'm just trying to limit the severity of the consequences (I regretted taking this about ten minutes after I took it)
But honestly I don't want hospital, that's probably why I went to the middle of nowhere before I took it
I think this thread should be closed because we cannot advise anything but hospital.

If you're in the middle of nowhere but still able to post here, does that mean you have a phone? If so, phone for an ambulance. I'm afraid that's all we can say.
If you go to hospital you will have your blood taken to check your levels. You will then likely be put on a sort of 'antidote' to the drug. When your levels drop to a normal level, you will be realised after seeing psych/mental health nurse to assess your risk/needs for the future. If your levels do not return to a normal level you will be transferred to a liver specialist unit.
As someone who recently went to hospital after a OD, go immediately. The earlier you go the more likely the treatment will work. I went almost 12 hours after the OD, which is the cut off. My levels were extremely high and I was almost transferred to a liver specialist. The treatment I got was absolutely lovely, everyone was lovely. Please please please go.

I agree with cersei, though if you are already known to mh services then they might not necessary make you see a psych there. That's what happened to me because my then SW came to talk to me whilst I was in A&E.

I'm not known to anyone.
Most likely, I'll be dismissed as 'being fine', that's their cheapskate way of getting out of doing a proper job of testing people, isn't it? Happened to me several times before, that or running irrelevant tests to check something that they think is the problem but actually I went in for a completely different thing (told them what it was but irrelevant tests were still run).
Btw what is it with this forum? It keeps logging me out at random, which is rather annoying tbh
Are you a medical professional? Just wondering how you know the tests were irrelevant.
And whatever you say the answer is going to be: go to hospital. You will be likely to have bloods taken and, depending how much you have taken, be given a medication called parvolex. You may or may not be required to have a psych assessment.
Always seem to get things just that little bit wrong.

After one of my ODs i had my stomach pumped, charcoal etc. I puked when i arrived at the a&e and in spite of them pumping my stomach i was still close to dying. That was not even an hour after i had taken the pills.
The pills would have had time to get into your system so puking now would probably make no difference.
Also, i dont think people are out of order. Sometimes we have to take responsibility. You did this, regretted it so you have to do something about it. Maybe next time you feel the need to do something like this, remember this situation.
Call an ambulance and go. You are conscious and present mentally so you are capable of taking responsibility for your actions.

I just have some experience with this sort of thing that's all. Also did a lot of research using medical professional websites.

parvolex? Is that new? I thought n-acetelene or something was [this medication's] od treatment?
I don't want to stay in hospital for any length of time, and it's not viable at the moment anyway with exams going on and everything, hospital stay or psych unit lockup would be the inevitable outcome of a psych assessment

Not necessary. I went to A&E following an OD and they didnt lock me up in the psych hospital.
Also unless you are sectioned then they will allow you to take an exam - I did an exam whilst I was in the psych unit.
