Jodi Picoult

Hey! So my name is Elizabeth, and I'm curious, does anyone here LOVE Jodi Picoult (author) as much as i do??? I've read almost all her books and my absolute FAVORITE is Between The Lines, which she wrote with her daughter. Have any of you read her books, or anything similiar? If you've read HER, i'd love to hear your opinion! if you have a suggestion that's similar, I'd love to hear it, I'm ALWAYS looking for new books to read!

Hey Elizabeth! I love Jodi Picoult!! Actual intense obsession with her books, probably not normal. I've read all of them, like literally all of them. Between the Lines was a really good book, I didn't expect to like it as much considering the age range it was written for, but I really enjoyed it. My favourites are Handle with Care and Change of Heart. At the moment though I really like The Storyteller and I think that is my current favourite :)

Have you ever looked fear in the face and said "I just don't care"?

I love her books too, have read most of them. My favourites are probably Sing You Home and Nineteen Minutes.
She writes amazing books, I always cry when reading them.

it is hard to choose a favourite, every time I read one it becomes my new favourite, but I think those two I read the quickest and they touched me the most. only one of her books I haven't been able to finish and am still in the middle of it years on, it is called 'Second Glance' I believe.

AGHHH!!! I want to agree so much with EVERY favorite! I'm jewish so i hardocre related to the main character in Storyteller, and was the twist ending not ABSOLUTELY amazing and perfect? So typical of Jodi Picoult! have you listened to the CD that goes with Sing You Home? Loved the character. Nineteen minutes was the First book i read so of course i have a special palce in my heart for it. But can we PLEASE talk about the Pact? How was that not one of the best books ever? I always get stuck on the fact that he had TWO bullets. Handle with Care, i related more to Amelia than Willow...awful, I know.
And i totally agree about not expecting to love Between the Lines as much as I did!

I love her too, I have all of her books! Actually first heard of her on this site, so thank you Ryl. I don't know if you'd be interested in books for younger readers, but another author I love and who reminds me of Jodi's type of books (ie. serious issues and written well) is Anne Cassidy. Her books are amazing too and have always reminded me of a "Jodi Picoult for younger readers". When I say younger I mean young adult, not children's. All of her books are good but I would mostly recommend Looking for JJ and Missing Judy. I just actually read the sequel to Looking for JJ, plus I have two of her books from a series to read :)

Love her books favourite has to be Second Glance closely followed by Nineteen Minutes. I have actually met her a couple of times and she is really so so lovely. If you like her writing then it is well worth trying Dianne Chamerblain I think, she's also very good on details, plot twists, character development etc.

I think the point of the separate story with the two brothers and Ania (I've forgotten her name?!) was to emphasize the brutality of the holocaust through a child's eyes, and how she coped with what was happening to her, by describing it as a fantasy story using real life events. I quite liked the fact there was a separate story interwoven, although it did take me a while to understand!

Littlen light, I have also listened to the CD for Sing You Home it was awesome! The Pact is also an amazing book! I honestly do love them all :P I never liked Salem Falls though.

Curious what the interest level is on Second Glance, i liked it but i never held my attention, it took me the longest to read, well, right up there with Salem Falls. I actually am on Goodreads-invaluable site. LOL. I will check out Anne Cassidy-thanks for that.

Me too! Lately I've been spending hours reading reviews on there too, I had to put a stop to it so I could actually get some sleep.

Speaking of Anne Cassidy, she tweeted me twice and also retweeted me today! That made me happy

The one written with her daughter is the only book of hers I haven't been able to read cover to cover. It annoys me which is insanely unusual of her books for me. I love the way she writes & that everything she writes is based on facts and she does in depth research. Its one thing I really admire about her.

My Favs would have to be The Tenth Circle and The Storyteller. Followed by House Rules & Vanishing Acts.

I love her books too! I'm reading The Storyteller at the moment. The only one I could read was Songs of The Humpback Whale - not really sure why.

My favourite is Nineteen Minutes.
