I think I would have slightly preferred school geography if it had been about learning where places are and also learning capital cities, because I like learning little facts. I think the fact that as a society we don't know where places are in the world is quite sad, mean I know roughly where countries are in the world, Europe I'm okish on, but otherwise I am poor, could probably say where maybe 3 countries in Africa are, but I certainly don't know specifics. And I remember watching the Olympics opening ceremony last year when the countries come in and I hadn't heard of most of the countries!

I gave up history in year 9 so mine was principally primary school so things like the romans and tudors and so on.

I enjoyed it but hated the teacher so didn't continue which I regret!

At primary school part of our geography was learning the countries and capital cities!

I didn't like studying history, I dropped it after year 9.

We mainly did English history like the Tudors, Elizabethans etc, WWI and WWII, Ancient Egypt, Ancient Rome and Ancient Greece and the French and Industrial Revolutions. I don't remember doing any American history.

I loved Geography, I took it at GCSE. In the first few years at secondary school and in primary school it involved where the countries were located and what the capital cities were, but GCSE Geography involved a lot of things like erosion, weather systems, some geology etc which was really interesting.

Isn’t it funny how day by day nothing changes but when you look back, everything is different…
