Doctor confidentiality?
Yesterday I went to the insta care because my side was hurting, they took a blood test and sent me to get a cat scan, they found out I had appendicitis and a sist and sent me straight into surgery. My boyfriend and my mom were waiting in the waiting room and while I was out after the surgery the surgeon went out and told my mom about all my cuts, and said that I needed help. I am 19 years old.... isint there a law that says that doctors cannot tell others including my mother anything confidential as long as I am 18?

When you are below 18 years old you still have the same rights to patient confidentiality, however, as with any patient, even though you are above 18, the doctor can make their own judgement and decision to speak to authorities, parents, guardians and siblings if they deem it is in the public interest or " you judge that the disclosure is in the best interests of a child or young person who does not have the maturity or understanding to make a decision about disclosure". In the case of an adult the doctor would assume he was doing the best thing for you if he judged you as not being able to make decisions to benefit yourself or keep yourself safe. Take care, Laura.

Since you're over 18 that's against HIPPA laws if you're in the US. I'm sorry the doctor did this to you, he never should have. I hope you recover your from your surgery and take care of yourself

It's pretty much against the rules in the uk although there are a few areas where confidentiality can be broken.
Which country do you live in?
