I found it too jumpy. It went from one person to another then back again and apart from Dissociative Identity Disorder I don't think the illnesses were explained clearly enough. I had to watch the programme twice to really get a grip on it (I recorded it)
I thought it could have been more structured.

as far as psychs have explained, bipolar 1 is full blown mania & psychosis, whereas 2 isnt usually as extreme (hypomania) & doesn't involve psychosis.

Yeah I have bipolar 2. I don't really get manic, just kind of 'up' with lots of ideas/racing thoughts then suicidal lows and sometimes combinations of both.

They didn't show anyone with psychosis on it. I was annoyed.
|
PM me if you want a PDF copy of the ICD-10 or the Mental Health Act 1983/2007. I ALSO HAVE THE DSM-V BOOK and am a pharmacology student.
I have a visual impairment / neurological problems so I need people to type in clear text and no funny fonts. Also excuse any typos, my vision blocks things out.
I have autism and have problems communicating, PMs included.
Just becasue I type well doesn't mean I speak well. I am only part time verbal.

I saw that too. So I'm confused now.
I did not like this documentary for other reasons too though. It didn't show the true serious extent of mental illness.

I felt let down too, especially it was advertised as 20+ people with mental illness/disorders taking you along with their day to day lives when it was only really a handful of people, and I felt it only followed more commonly known mental illness, DID, bipolar etc.

Not sure what I thought about it. Think I found it interesting for the most part and it'll help people to understand some mental health issues more as some can be hard to explain at times.
I wouldn't mind seeing more documentaries like this on TV, it's interesting to watch. :)

I think it would have worked better as a series of episodes rather than a 90min one off. With so many people it only really focused on a few with a few other people thrown in for 5 mins here and there, and again the ones focused more on where the more known mental health issues that always seemed to be focused on (with the exception of did). It would have been nice to focus on a wide range of people and illnesses but you would need much more time.

I havent watched it, but I have it recorded. I dont think I will enjoy it due to the lack of psychosis, and the style it was shown in due to the comments here are to be believed.
