I feel like a danger to myself *how do I keep myself safe?*
The posts title says it all really, after not cutting for 4 days I'm starting to feel unpredictable and a threat to myself - so please if anyone can offer any advise ( how I can keep myself safe) from either personal experience or something they've heard I would be immensely grateful. I really need kind words and a little extra support right now. <3

I guess you could try to distract yourself as much as possible e.g listen to music, watch TV, play games, read a book, read trashy magazines...
Be around other people if possible.
Try to identify how you managed not to self-harm for 4 days.

Usually keeping your hands busy works. Like making something or drawing or painting. Im in the same boat as you so i know how difficult it is. Try writing something positive on the areas you self harmed. On one area ive put "you've come to far to go back now" on another ive put my gfs name, and on another i've put "this too will pass" i know seeing them does lift me up a bit when im feeling particularly low and wanting to self harm. when i'm feeling like that i find it best to stick to a schedule and routines, so that i don't have much opportunity to hurt myself and have something to organize my time by so that i don't get too impulsive
|
this is my magical medicine cabinet. Left to right they contain: courage, hope, calmness, and strength.
The magical part: They NEVER run out, so borrow some any time you want.

Think about how great it feel to be 4 days clean. Hold on to that feeling. Love that feeling and want to feel like that everyday. It'll help alot, along with keeping yourself busy.
