I'm not your age but have you tried any creams for them?

No, having not seen anything. Any recommendations?

I use a 'witch stick' which is basically witch hazel. But I'd rather not get them in the first place. I'm trying to cut down on sugary things..

Witch hazel is good. My brother used to use Clearasil when he got really spotty through his teens.

Luckily I've never had many spots so don't know anymore, but I'm sure other people will.

Are you getting enough vitamins and minerals as they help with skin?

Could it be your washing powder or soap irritating your skin? Or if you get very hot during the night it could be a heat/sweat rash.

I'm fine! Totally fine. I don't know why it's coming out all loud and squeaky, 'cause really, I'm fine!

Who else is fine?!?!?

Thank you both.

I eat pretty well [though still getting over IBS flare up]. I did start taking a supplement for skin, hair and nails [mainly due to losing more hair than felt ok] but then stopped it with the IBS flare.

I've just changed my wash liquid so I'll see next week when I put the bedding washed in that on.. The cleanser I use is really really mild, so it can't be that. And it's only around my chin mostly. I did get hot and really sweaty in the night earlier in the week, but now don't as I've taken action to prevent that.
I probably should drink more water than I do...

I get spots due to hormones. When I was between pregnancies I had a chin full of spots the whole time. Now I'm pregnant again they've totally gone. So mine are definitely related to my hormones. Before that I only got one spot a month around my period.

I know you've mentioned pre menopause stuff before so it could be that.

Thanks Sam. :)

Usually I get the spots PMS time. This time it's just as my period is ending. Yes, it is definitely hormone related. I am taking evening primrose oil on the advice of my GP. But I did miss about a week of it due to the pesky IBS so maybe, hmm.

I get them when I'm due my period and sometimes at other random times. Very annoying because I thought it would stop by my age. I've used clearasil's vanishing spot cream. It's a very small tube, but I have found it to be effective. I found if I use it when I feel spots are starting it can help reduce an out break.

My mum is in her mid 50's and still gets zits. But this is due to her having PCOS. But also, it is actually common to get them for your whole life for no reason.

I've always had terrible skin no matter what I try really. Mine seems quite related to my period.

Not sure how old you are, I'm 27 and I'm sure the reason I still need ID is cos they think only youngsters get spots.

Hormones
also, are you eating well? I know you say you have 'borderline anorexia' (ednos?) which can contribute to bad skin.

If you want tips on dealing with the spots - the Witch range is really good, and the Lush Mask of Magnaminty/Cosmetic Warrior face masks are fab too x

Thank you both.

And, no, Jodie, I'm not eating great at all right now. Partly restricting stuff, mainly due to feeling really low and sort of powerless in some areas, as well as my belly not tolerating things well. And nothing tastes of much either.

Make a meal plan and stick to it? Even if you don't feel like it.
