I'm not sure if this is the right place for this so feel free to have it moved. Also please excuse my poor ability to articulate my thoughts.
For those of you that know Harry Potter you'll know what a patronus is. You'll know what it does and how it's formed. (For those who don't, read here.)
Now many a time I've been asked "what form do you think your patronus would take?" (To which I would answer - a dog.)
But what's been going through my mind as I've been re-listening to my audio books, is what memory would I use to conjure my patroonus?. I think it's quite an interesting exercise to do, as it has to be an especially strong and significant memory.
At the moment I'm struggling to find one specific memory that would be strong enough, due to dementors fogging my brain. But I thought it would be interesting to ask all of you here, to get you really thinking of positive things - What memory would you use to conjure a patronus?
Also, feel free to add what form your patronus would take =)
The only time you will find real light is when you're searching in the dark..
My patronus would be a panther, but thinking of a memory is really hard. Probably something involving my girlfriend, but id have to comcentrate really hard

My patronus would be a meerkat but think I would struggle to think of one strong memory, don't get me wrong I have lots of happy memories just not many that give overwhelming feelings of joy, maybe something to do with being with my niece.
I think mine would be the memories I have of my mother - particularly one in the morning when I used to set my alarm for 6:30 so I could go into her room and cuddle her for half an hour before I had to get up to make breakfast/get ready for school. That time in the morning was wonderful. We didn't speak, Cancer didn't get in the way, we just lay together. Always makes me happy.
A more recent memory would be of my surprise 21st birthday party. I was sectioned and didn't think I'd be able to do anything fun - then Jenna arranged a BIG gathering of almost all of my friends from across the country in the park near the hospital, and took me on a longer leave that day... I had no idea it was being planned and I burst into tears as soon as I wandered round the trees and saw them all there :).
I always thought mine would be a lioness. Protective, powerful and elegant. :P
Though when I was very young I apparently used to have a 'pet frog' under my bed!
Memory? Either something connected with therapy, or the sun glinting on the fresh luminescent snow at the retreat centre in Canada I studied yoga teaching at.
The memory I would use at this moment in time is the one from Noverber 5th last year, because I was ridiculously happy or when Cat and I had a nice candlelit dinner that I had cooked for our anniversary or something soppy like that.
The world is just illusion always trying to change me.

Mine is similar to Bellatrix, but it is the memories of my mum. When she was ill sometimes I just used to lie on her bed and chat with her for ages, I would hold her hand and she would cuddle me and we would just chat, and it made me so happy being with her. Or maybe holiday memories, just floating about in the pool with my family, just little things.
My other option of when I was ridiculously happy is the day I had my first semi-contact fight. I was so nervous I cried at the end of every round when I went back to my corner, and I was so terrified for the days before it that I almost backed out. But I went in there and I got in the ring and I fought in front of everyone, which is ridiculously terrifying when you have social anxiety, but also as it was 3 months after my mummy died. And I got in there and I did it and I won my first fight, and I didn't stop smiling for days. :)

Oh, and I think...I would like to be...a dolphin or a turtle or something. Maybe a turtle. Turtles are cute.
I don't know what animal I would be. I like to think a dolphin but can animals that only breathe underwater be patronuses? Dolphins do only breathe underwater, right?
With memories, I don't really know. I don't really remember anything clearly enough to focus upon it but I think that being in the play last year was pretty special. Other times when I've been dancing have been truly amazing... Oh no wait, I think one would be when I was teaching in Kenya because that was so incredible and I loved it! Or when I got a good mark in my recent assignment... Hmm, there are quite a few and they are making me happy to think about.
My memory would be something involving my cousins children I think, as anything to do with them makes me happier than anything else in the world :)
I'm not really sure what my patronus would be, something loving and quiet, but with a loud, outgoing streak that only the people closest to them get to see....maybe a cat...

Harry Potter means a lot to me, particularly patronuses. They're a reminder that even in the darkest of times there is a power that can break through and fight them away. And that power is HOPE.
Which is why I have my tatoo =)

My memory would be when me and my bestest went on residential and we ran off for a bit walked through the woods and ended up in the middle of some farmers corn field

Mine would be a cat! My memory would be either my first glimpse of the mountains on my first backpacking trip that brief ecstatic moment of pure wonder or when I went to south africa with the school and I stood at the edge of the Blyde River Canyon, it was such a beautiful day I could see for miles all around me, I felt in control with my world in the palm of my hand I was so happy. Another would be with my mum we were in Venice and at an island I cant remember the name of, we we just in the sun having fun holding hands I was running over the bridges and I just felt content. Any of these would probably work.
