beds and duvets
I am looking for a new duvet cover. A single duvet cover. Not double, not king size, plain old single.
But all the nice covers, you know, with all the fancy designs on that match my proposed colour scheme, are all double and king size.
I joke not. In both Habitat and Homebase literally the only single duvet covers they had were plain ones. Boring! Maybe all the single ones sold out, maybe.
Anyway. If I am to get the duvet cover of my dreams [aha!] I may need to invest in a double duvet cover, and duvet... This wouldn't be a problem, but, it's for a single bed.
Is it weird/odd looking to have a double duvet on a single bed? [NB bed up against wall] Experiences and thoughts wanted please!
Or should I complain to Habitat et al for discrimination against the single bod!!!

Have you tried argos/wilkinsons/tesco...places like that?they all seem to do really nice single duvet covers, well they did when i was looking for a double!
At one point i had a double on a single bed and it was fine, you can always fold it in half if you can't find a single duvet you like.
I would suggest you look online and in more places before giving up,if you really want a single.

I personally prefer using a double duvet on a single bed (even coming from a double bed which I felt lost in), you get much more duvet to snuggle up to and at this time of year it's a warming bonus!
Like snail said, have a wee look online and maybe somewhere like John Lewis before you give up all hope. I'm sure there's a perfect single duvet cover for you out there somewhere.

There are times to stay put, and what you want will come to you.
But there are times to go out into the world and find such a thing for yourself.

I was 20 when I discovered the delights of a double duvet on a single bed. It's amazing, you'll definitely be converted!

Yeah double duvet on single bed is totally acceptable, my mum always puts a large duvet on a bed, e.g. double on single, kingsize on double....

I have a king size duvet on my single bed.
I also have a single duvet with a blanket on top to lie on instead of a bottom sheet.
So duvet/blanket as a sheet + a king size duvet to wrap up in = coziest bed ever.

I have a queen duvet on my single bed as. When I moved out of my mothers home I was allowed my bedding but not my bed. Ergo queen duvet on single bed.
Never looked back. It is so warm and snuggly and I don't have to worry about finding nice duvet covers for a single bed as most over here are hundreds of dollors or for kids with something kiddish on them.

I sleep in a single bed but have my queen sized doona/duvet and covers from my old bed at my mums place and find it more comfortable than a single one anyway.

That's what I've currently got, it's one of my better decisions.
