Possible Diagnosis

Hi,

So, I had some assessments over the past 6 months at the Gender Identity Clinic in Nottingham. At my last appointment I was told they would need to discuss my case in regards to how to proceed. I rang up on Wednesday to see what was happening and was told they were discussing my case later in the week and my next appointment will be in early December. I will receive a letter in the post in the next week or so and I am bricking it... This is possibly the biggest appointment I will have in my life. If I get the diagnosis, my whole life will change, hopefully for the better and this whole fight will have been worth it. I am so excited but so scared at the same time.

I guess what I'm looking for right now is some reassurance that it'll all be ok and all this feeling sick and nervous is going to be worth it.

So, I've had no word so far. Really worried that I'm gonna end up missing the appointment or something. I tried calling up today but they were closed. The appointment will be a really amazing Christmas present but it just doesn't seem to want to happen.

I dunno what to do :(

I don't have a whole lot to add, except to say give it some time. You said the appointment would be in early December, and it's still very early. I imagine it's not easy to wait for something as potentially life-changing as this, but it will come in due time. And when the appointment does come, I hope it goes the way you want it to. well, my appointment isn't until march no... I have a long time to wait and it's getting to me a lot. I don't think I can last this long in limbo...

Sorry to hear how long you have to wait for this appointment. Sometimes it can be worthwhile phoning them up and letting them know you're willing to be contacted at short notice if there is a cancellation (provided you can actually get to the clinic at short notice!).

If it turns out you do have to wait until March, it might be worth pencilling in a few really positive things throughout Jan and Feb - whatever will keep your mind occupied in a healthy way.
