I know what it's like to want to die. How it hurts to smile. How you try to fit in but you can't. How you hurt yourself on the outside to try to kill the thing on the inside. ~ Girl Interrupted
When you dont want to feel, death seems like a dream. ~ Girl Interrupted
My Dying Bride - I can't really explain it but the lyrics, Aaron's voice just all add up and the name fits perfectly.
Ayria - Love Jen's voice and her songwriting improved vastly from Flicker to Hearts for Bullets. Plus every time I've met her she's been a really great person to talk to.
Bette Midler - Her ability to sing really sad songs then go into stitch-worthy comedy is incredible =D.
Don't think I've posted here before and if I have I shall again!
Automatic Loveletter, Beth Ditto, Bloodhound Gang, Calvin Harris, cKy, Coldplay, Daft Punk, Deadmau5, Eagles Of Death Metal, Evanescence, Flyleaf, Foo Fighters, Justice, Knife Party, L'Amour La Morgue, Limp Bizkit, Lostprophets, Maroon 5, My Chemical Romance, Queens Of The Stone Age, Sabrepulse, Taking Back Sunday, The Bravery, The Killers, The Pretty Reckless and plenty more.
Ones in bold are pretty much the ones I listen to the most.
My favorite genre is music is classical and my favorite composer is Tchaikovsky but I also like Bach, Mozart, Gustav, Vivaldi, Beethoven, and Shostakovich.
Other than that I like Third Eye Blind, Coldplay, Keane, The Fray, Death Cab for Cutie, The Rolling Stones, The Who, Billy Joel, and Creedence Clearwater Revival.
I like sad music which explains most of the stuff but the 70's music which I just like because I do, no reason to it.

"Always forgive your enemies - nothing annoys them so much."

Blind Guardian, Helloween, and Korpiklaani are good "happy bands" seriously, listen to "Joudaan Viinna" by Korpiklanni, it sounds almost too happy to be metal. Then there's Mercyful Fate and King Diamond, which I love. My longest reigning favorite band is Iron Maiden though.
I love all sorts of music. It's one of the things I will always find hope in. I mostly enjoy Alternative Rock, Post-Punk, Shoegaze, and various other genres, but it definitely isn't limited to that.
Right now, I'm obsessed with Garbage. I've loved them for about 6 years now. When my mother died, Shirley Manson answered one of my tweets and I was so shocked that she did that.
I listen to The Distillers whenever I'm pissed off. Like, I think music like that was made to be played at maximum volume.
Something else I like is Baroque music, I like some of the instruments and the trills in the music. It relaxes me somewhat. I've listened to Emilie Autumn a lot. Mostly, her instrumental covers of classical/baroque music and some of her original violin compositions.
I've also been listening to a lot of The Cure lately. I love their lyrics and their songs are my childhood. I get nostalgic when I hear The Lovecats, Friday I'm In Love, and In Between Days. Whenever I see something related to The Cure, I am immediately happy.
I could probably go on for hours about all my favourite bands and singers, haha.
blood on the dance floor-insane lyrics
snow whites poison bite-cant find anyone else who sounds like them
black veil brides-amazing guitarists
falling in reverse-amazing singer
these are just some of my favorite bands
What lies behind us and what lies before us is so small compared to what lies within us. And if we carry what lies within us out into the world, miracles can happen.” - Henry David Thoreau
“Don’t give up, I believe in you all, a person’s a person, no matter how small.” - Dr. Seuss
“You can complain about roses having thorns. Or you can rejoice that thorns have roses.”
- Ziggy
if someone sings one of their songs on x factor, i'll vote for them. idc if it's rylan (i kind of like him, actually). i said this to my uncle, all, "WHY WILL NO ONE LISTEN TO ME AND SING ONE OF THEIR SONGS?" and he was like - guffaw - "probably because your one vote wouldn't be worth the thousands they'd lose if they sung mumford and sons." :|
Even though a lot has changed since i was 15 years old, one thing has stayed the same, and that is my love for Marilyn Manson. Ever since i bought Antichrist Superstar i have continued following Manson on his journey and i have always felt a kind of connection to him because his songs touch me in ways no other artist has managed to touch me. Going from anger and rage to sorrow and loneliness, each song has helped me put into words how i have felt or where i was at in my life.
You can almost say that all the albums are the soundtrack to my life. I have yet to see him in concert (shame on me!!!) but i am sure that the day i do it'll be an entraordinary experience.
I grew up with his music and it has been a privilegde to follow this amazing artist on his journey from an angry, young man and into the complex adult that he is today. I'll probably never meet him but i still feel like we've shared so much during the past 16 years.
Some good bands on this thread. ^_^
Currently mine is tie between Dead Can Dance who produce some of the most extraordinary music I have ever heard, and My Dying Bride.
"I want to be magic. I want to touch the heart of the world and make it smile. I want to be a friend of elves and live in a tree. Or under a hill. I want to marry a moonbeam and hear the stars sing. I don’t want to pretend at magic anymore. I want to be magic."
