I went to group therapy for a couple years, and I loved it.
I was surrounded by other teenage girls that were going through the same things as me, and could really relate. I moved away for college, and now I'm back but I'm in an age group that doesn't have a group, though I'm sure I could find one.
I still talk to the girls that were in my group. They're all really supportive and I can talk to them about everything because they already know everything about me.
I don't know if it's different then your support group, but what we'd do is that one therapist would oversee all of it and we'd just go around and say how our week was going, if we had any problems, and then everyone else would respond with ways to help or stories of how they could relate. It was really helpful to get someone else's perspective of my situation because they have been there.
Good luck if you go! You just have to be willing to share (but they won't pressure you at first). I love the support, and groups are a great way to get it.
I've been there for almost a year, it's great i've meet some amazing people and made some great friends.
I've learnt lots of things that I didn't know, and now i ahve aplace that i can go where i actually fit in, and i can be myself without being judged or anything like that.
you should be able to go along to see what it's like

I am currently:
I went to an addiction support group almost daily for a month and weekly every month after as needed [it was recommended], and it did help me. I guess support groups take a certain amount of commitment, but if you commit, it works. For me, I met people from different walks of life, all there for the same cummulative goal. It made me feel not so bad about the things I had done and also helped me to push forward from that part of my life and leave it behind.
Being in a su8pport group, helps you to know that you're not alone and helps you see that you can get thruogh it, it also heaps you see how far you've come. Mine is fortnightly so it's not too much of a commitment and you don't have to talk if you don't feel like it.

I went to one about self-harm and depression.
It was nice! at first i was unconfortable about all the people after a while i got real settled
If its like mine (not all are the same) its mainly a group of people who share what they are going though and look the people like them to give advice and support (hence "support" group )
I really think u should give it a go, plus there is nothing wrong withj just listening for awhile
