Lithium and Kidney Pain?

So I'm just a bit worried right now and have no one to talk to. I just started taking Lithium for Bipolar last week or the week before...I have taken it in the past and it worked great and I had no problems rather than the regular side effects.

However just now I was about to go out, I went to the bathroom to pee and I had a pain in (where I think) my kidneys are, mostly on the right side. When I say pain, I mean agonising pain, so bad that when I got up I actually had to sit back down again.

I am going to drink a bunch of water and hope it goes away but I just wanted to know if this was a normal side effect or if I should be worried by it?

You need to have a blood test at your doctors.

as everyone else has said, id get checked out. as far as im aware, lithium can feck your kidneys.
