My landlady evicted me for being mentally ill.
It's a long story, but this has been brewing for a long time. My landlady recently found out about my health issues, my history etc. She found out about the anxiety, cutting, depression etc and took it badly. Last night I got home and was met by my landlady in a frantic state. She began by giving me my month's notice but when I said I wanted to leave sooner she said she wanted me out that same night. Some of the things she said:
"You act like you're anxious, act like you want to cut."
"No one from college wants to live with you."
"You've been playing a game."
"If you're going to commit suicide don't do it in my f***ing house."
She also read my diary. Verbally abused my parents, saying it's their fault.
And my best friend is still living under her roof.

I don't know if it is legal or not cos we never had a written agreement (I was her lodger) and there were no witnesses when she threw me out so I can't prove she said any of that.

Does she live in the house with you? If so, as a lodger you pretty much have no legal rights, unfortunately. The only thing is that you should expect "reasonable notice" of eviction, which is usually a couple of weeks.

Well you posted this thread about her before http://www.recoveryourlife.com/forum...d.php?t=178687
So maybe you should forget about it and move in if she was that awful to live with. Also another point to consider is she may not want someone who is mentally ill or not in a stable state under her roof, as its her house at the end of the day. Im not saying she acted right, so you should be glad your not there anymore

She was recommended by the college I go to, and she's had lodgers in previous years. I've contacted my college and they're almost certainly not putting anyone with her next year. Unfortunately my good friend from college is still there and doesn't want to be involved at all.

If your friend doesnt want to be involved thats up to her, you can still be friends but just not mention where you used to live

That is understandable. Why would your friend want to jeopardise their own room/shelter by wading in to something that they aren't really a part of.
You have reported it to the college, and that is really all that can be done. I'd recommend that in future you look to become a tenant rather than a lodger, if for no other reason than it gives you more legal rights.
