Scared, please give some support??
Okay so I've been struggling with self harming for about a year now and it's the past 7 weeks I have been free from it which is the longest I've ever been, I'm just scared that I feel like I need to do it again, I'm stressed and feel so scared of relapsing I can't let that happen, I'm stopping for my best friend and if I suddenly harm again I know I won't be able to lie to her.
I guess I'm just asking for some support please on how to calm myself down and push myself past these bad urges so far? Please help.

First, congratulations on being 7 weeks free! If you don't mind me asking, has something happened to cause you to feel this bad? I know that fighting the urges can be hard, but you definitely can do it. As for trying to calm down and lessening/stopping the urges, all I can suggest is to keep your hands and mind busy. Do things you enjoy... Crafts, exercise, draw, write, take a bath/shower, watch a movie/TV, play a game, do a puzzle, read, ect. how are you doing?
7 weeks is great! has there been anything that you've done in that time that has helped you get through other urges? you can try those things again, and/or try to find ways to make them even more helpful. and getting others ideas is great :) so im glad that you made a thread asking for ideas...
it sounds like you might be overthinking the whole situation.... make a plan for what you will do if you feel triggered, but then you need to set it aside, not ruminate on what might happen....

Hi guys, thanks for the replies, I was stressing and overthinking like you said, I'm glad I'm doing well I hope you're both well too :) I will try out more relaxation techniques and find more things to do to get through the urges too, thanks again guys, if you need me at all then I'm just a PM away xxx
