Contains alcohol - Trying to drink less for the new year...
I want to only do it on the weekend. My weekend is Sunday/Monday... I want to do it once a week or so...I don't want to buy alcohol for my house, and I want to only drink during the week if I am invited...(but avoid that, mostly).
Can I get some support? Is anyone else in the same boat?

Good luck hon, I'm here to offer as much encouragement as I can; you can do it. Would it help to plan other activities for the times you would normally drink?

Yeah... It sucks because a lot of my friends drink too and we go to a lot of shows so there's usually lots of alcohol around. Oh well. It's getting old though...

Good luck am here if y'all need to talk or whatever. :)

Hi
In exactly the same place. Need to really cut it down this year. Think zebedee's idea is really good and one I'm going to try. I drink a lot at home so am going to spend more time doing domestics stuff and with my animals than sitting on the sofa drinking.
Please feel free to pm me if you need a distraction / support. Would it be ok if I did the same? X

Bunnymad, of course you can PM me! How is it going for you?
So....I drank last night...not a ton, but I did. I was just really bored/lonesome/sick of sitting alone at home. Work was pretty awful...I was super tired. So far I haven't had anything tonight and don't intend to...
I used to not have an issue with this.....I could only drink on the weekends (if at all)...I don't know what happened...?

Same
When I'm stressed, tired, overwhelmed......
Would you mind if we move this to PMs? I'd rather not be really public with it x

Yes, am going to give it a go...
My problem is boredom & loneliness, plus habit.

Hey, I'm sorry things are difficult right now.
It's difficult when things become a habit, but you need help. Have you thought about seeing a doctor?
|
It doesn't matter where you come from; it matters where you go.
No-one gets remembered for the things they didn't do. We won't all be here this time next year,
so while you can take a picture of us. We're definitely going to hell,
but we'll have all the best stories to tell.

Yes, have a great psychiatrist & a psychologist. Also managed 2 days without drinking! But back to 'normal' last night, I need to change my definition of 'normal'... It helps that I'm now on the right combination of meds for depression so am symptom free from that for the first time in my life. My drinking was linked to that, so hopefully I will gradually be able make a healthier 'normal'.
How's everyone else doing? *hugs*
