Hmm...interesting. I usually stick to the local coffee shops...
Oh well, I don't really want attention from guys anyway. And there just aren't girls around. So, that may be a dead end anyway.
Yes, although technically married he's living with the woman he dumped me for. Having 2 little kids does not help. I know who i want, have done for years, before I was married now he's out of he picture I kinda made a move - set up an anon fb and dropped many hints. He's ignoring it butam fairly certain he knows its me. Was planning on making a move on saturday but he's away. Grrrr

I'll probably be single at the end of 2012 too, unless a miracle happens.
^ This exactly. I honestly don't know why I even hope anymore, ya know?
Hmm...I have no idea how real cuddles feel like as I've never had a bf, so maybe it's best I never find out...I do see my roommate in her bf's gigantic sweatshirt all the time though and it really hurts sometimes.

I'm entering 2012 single but am quite confident that I'll find someone before the year is over, and if I don't then that's okay too. As it's better than just settling for second best and not being entirely happy with things.
I don't find being single particularly saddening.
Stop thinking about what I want, what he wants, what your parents want. What do you want?
Nah, it's not too saddening for the first few years. If I reach a decade of not even being kissed (and obviously single) I'll quit. Because after a decade, it will be obvious that I'm not desirable to anyone.

For me, I find it not saddening because I've been in lots of short relationships through putting pressure on myself to just be with someone regardless. And also been engaged twice, so realising I can be happy within myself regardless of having a significant other is a positive, and a better foundation for future relationships.
(Just clarifying as you seemed to be agreeing with me without quite knowing the reason I said it, lol.
I've never managed to be single for 'years,' but it might have done me some good.)

Single this year again, but not alone, got a couple of girls round for a mini party, so you never know one of them might decide to show some interest, but its been about 11 years since my last relationship (if you can call it that), I don't think I'd know what to do :p but I'm mostly happy with being single n not really making any effort not to be
My boyfriend and I are going through a rough patch, so I wouldn't call it single - like I'm definitely not looking around for somebody else - but I'd define it as "it's complicated."

I enjoy this fearless optimism!
I am forever alone. I'm so forever alone, I made a thread about it. Give me sympathy.

Yes, you probably will be with that attitude.
Relationships don't just pop out of thin air, nor do people funnily enough. I am single, am I happy about it? Not particularly, no. But I'm not sitting woeing about it, because that hardly helps my situation, and it doesn't even make me feel better.
I am pretty non-pro-active in my forever aloneness, mainly because I am le scared, and because at least this way my parents don't have to know that I'm gay.
Also, whilst watching love actually, I was known to claim I didn't understand what was so great about being in love, "I'd rather have a pizza tbh", so yeah, I'm not exactly the greatest romantic of all time :p
First single new year in two years, woe. But i have a best friend who is trying to get into my pants, and is hopefully going to prevent me stalking the ex.

There's a difference between not being pro-active and not being pro-active but still forever woeing about it. Personally, I think if something about your life annoys and upsets you so much then to all that is within your power to change it. And if you actually cannot change it (like I cannot change my bone structure that effects my physical figure), then do all within your power to change your thoughts and attitudes on it.
But if, like you (?), you aren't too bothered about your situation, then that's fine.
