I always make an effort to actually keep up with my resolutions, so hopefully this year will be the same.
To get my belly pierced (which I did on new years).
To hang out with my friend more often.
To go on a trip with them (Australia hopefully).
To go on the new rollercoaster at Six Flags.
To use my punching bag and get into shape.
To finish writing my second book.
To buy a bikini this summer and look okay in it.
To do more art.
To go clubbing for my 21st.
To keep not drinking soda.
To not get any speeding tickets or in any car wrecks.
My new year's resolution, stop avoiding my mental health worker. Make steps towards a normal eating pattern before uni, and get the tattoo I really want
I've made a couple I could probably stick to if I tried..and some..not so much :P
- Complete my apprenticeship by the end of the year
- Make more of an effort to keep in contact with my buddies
- Stop bitching so much at work (LOL okay, I work with girls, girls and more girls. It's not going to happen)
- Try and think of something other than McDonalds when my stomach rumbles. (Double cheeseburger and strawberry milkshake ;D)
I'm gonna tap him like a maple tree. I'm gonna search him for some syrups. I'm gonna be having sex with him.
clubbing 3 times a week? jesus ,im lucky to go 3 times ayear
It became like a sort of prison. Encased in a silver shell, words so full of bleeding need spilled like drops on dry leaves. And all the while laughter prevailed a long way from here. Nowhere land, nowhere time, nowhere space.
i would really like to get fit without relapsing with ed.
and also i would like to get a hold on my bpd and si and substance abuse..
All endeavor calls for the ability to tramp the last mile, shape the last plan, endure the last hours toil. The fight to the finish spirit is the one characteristic we must posses if we are to face the future as finishers. -Henry David Thoreau
I'm gunna get really healthy and look immensely good in a bikini by the time I go to Zante in July. So my resolutions are:
1. Cut down on chocolate and biscuits (the 5 segments of Terry's Chocolate Orange I just devoured and the half a sharing bag of Magic Stars last night obviously don't count.)
2. Cut down on alcohol, only go out clubbing once a week rather than 2/3 times. Thus saving money and my liver.
3. Take my lunch/breakfast/dinner to work rather than running to Tesco and buying crap... will save me money, stop wasting my half hour lunches and be healthier.
4. Actually go to the gym and start swimming properly (not just doing a few lengths then going in the steam room!)...I work at a leisure centre for god's sake. I have no excuse! I'm gunna do at least 150 lengths per week and go to the gym twice.
5. Cut down my internet usage to two hours a day maximum. Think of all the things I could accomplish with the few hours I save.
=]
Zombie thread but it's Feb now and I wondered how everyone was doing?
1. I'm eating so much healthier! I've had a few slip up days recently because I'm so busy and have been getting progressively more and more ill but aside from that, I'm eating a lot less crap.
2. I'm only going clubbing on Saturdays now really.
3. I'm still running to Tesco a lot but I'm eating fruit and Alpen bars and things, not donuts and chocolate.
4. The swimming isn't going so great but mostly because I'm always in the gym! I go 4-5 times per week. I'm really good friends with the instructors and blag free personal training so it's going really well. I've agreed to do a 10km run with a friend in August and started my training yesterday. 2.5km in 15 minutes is my current pace, so I'm aiming to do my 10km in less than an hour.
5. I wouldn't say I'm quite there on this but I am, on the whole, being a lot more productive!
1) to read more books.
2) to continue going to the gym and gain my 6pack.
3) to work towards getting a job/getting out more/making new friends.
4) to do project 365..I failed at doing it this year
I have read 2 books so far this year.
I have been to the gym..twice? but have been running pretty much every week.
I have applied to do the richmond fellowship and have an appointment with them next week.
I have taken a photo every day for 365 so far.

I've got loads, probably not going to keep up with even half of these, but I shall try!
~Stop SI altogether
~Eat healthier
~Reduce smoking/just be a social smoker
~Socialise more!
~Go to the gym and swimming at least twice a week
~Work Harder
~ Be organised
~Swear less
~ Pass my driving test. Practical and theory.
1.- not as bad as it could be, so that's good
2.- failing miserably
3.- same as above
4.- going okay
5.- Absolutely failing
6.- ^
7.-^
8.-^
9.- Kinda half way there, passed my theory.
So, all in all, not too great, but it's better than failing everything.
For all of you who might still be looking for a resolution: a question?
What did John Wayne, Humphrey Bogart, Steve McQueen, John McColl (my stepfather), David Evans and Robin Montgomery (both contemporaries) die of?
Answer: Lung Cancer. It's a killer. Don't for a moment think that it'll only happen to someone else.
But giving up is actually easier than you think, given a little willpower - and what a relief in the end ...
Tony.
PS. I once had a man called Tim Landon working for me in Oman many years ago. He subsequently became Equerry to the new Sultan and made a huge fortune from slicing off a share of many trade deals to the Sultanate. He died a year or three ago and, although I don't know the exact details, I'll bet that smoking played a very large part in it. He was addicted and where did his fortune ultimately get him?
His son, Arthur, seems to play a large part in current London social life alongside Prince Harry. I do hope he's learned not to smoke ...
^ Yeah, giving up smoking was one of the best decisions I ever made.

Stop thinking about what I want, what he wants, what your parents want. What do you want?
I know this is a massive zombie thread but I just saw a thread in GS&A about making New Year resolutions and wondered, how many of you kept yours from 2011?
I achieved one of mine from 2011
