I presume you're joking, Daryl, and that you actually paid for your new TV and all the bling? If you didn't then you are a common thief, and taking advantage of the crude anarchy we've seen in London and elsewhere marks you out as an anarchist yourself. Then think of all the consequences of a society where people have their homes burned down around them, small businesses are looted and destroyed and no-one can feel safe.
We can note that the man originally shot by the police last week was himself armed with an illegal weapon. It is reported that he didn't actually fire first. Poor victimised fellow. But if you were the police marksman who actually shot him just what indication would you be waiting for, knowing he was armed, before you felt justified in opening fire? "I say old chap, are you actually going to use your illegal weapon (acquired illegally) and if so please give me due warning so that I can get out of the way. I have a wife and children at home, whom I very much hope to see again, so do let me know clearly what your intentions are so that I can justify any action I may feel obliged to take." How readily do the media jump on the poor bloody man just trying to do his job, make awful decisions, and at the same time stay alive.
As to petrol bombing, which I saw much of in Northern Ireland in the 1970s, I firmly believe that anyone seen with a petrol bomb in their hands should be shot on sight. Why are they using petrol bombs except to inflict burns (possibly fatal) on the police (or soldiers in the NI case)? What possible right have they to take other people's lives into their own misguided hands?
I do very much hope that all this settles down soon and amicably. The huge majority of people in UK are law abiding. UK is one of the richest countries in the world and none of those taking part in the riots were actually starving or without some sort of roof over their heads. All of us can envy others, but surely not to this degree ...
Tony.
^^ When trolling truly pays off cheers dude, i feel special MR dad sir. hehe
There are times to stay put, and what you want will come to you.
But there are times to go out into the world and find such a thing for yourself.
I aint no abacus but you can count on me.
Its the end of the riots, there are police in force and local football hooligans firms a communitys rising against it, these scummy shits dont have the bollox to come out again,

Another night of rioting in Birmingham. A pakisatni man seriously injured defending his business and, I haven't heard this on the news but from a reliablle source so illl use the word ' rumoured' to be dead.
Stay safe
just because you've forgotten doesn't mean you're forgiven
My sister and toddler nephew live right where the three men were killed :/
And whoever said It's spreading near the Black - country, that's getting really close to where I live, ugh. Stay safe everyone.
You are all in my thoughts and prayers as the riots continue. It is not good for us who suffer anxiety and have a fear of being safe in there own town. It has been very bad in birmingham and 3 people lost there lives but dont know if it is connected to the riots.
Please stay safe only go out if necessary.
You may not see me around much and that is because i am doing better but still post now and them
Love you all (Jen)
be safe

well said Tony people have lost business that have been going for decades and you come out with something like you have a new tv. I hope you really do have the receipt for it.
How would you like it for some people to come and riot in your own home. Now i dont judge anyone, I forgive these people. Bu t i cannot understand why it has to go to other cities.
Think before you act. Think how people will actually feel loosing homes business having nowhere to live
I apologise now if this is a bit harsh and if i get a warning I accept it

its not harsh, people have started a petition to get anyone caught in the riots, and charged to lose all right to any benefits for the rest of their life - something i actually agree with.

Would only increase crime levels. And why only those involved in riots? Why not any other crime?
Also the fact that the petition in question has such a basic spelling error (loose instead of lose) makes me question whether the author actually put any thought in to at all.

People arnt scared of thier actions right now, but if you told them they would receive nothing from the government again they might think twice

If the government were to threaten such action (which they won't), they would have to carry through with it. Combine a criminal record with a poor area and there is little hope for these people to get any sort of job. Without benefits what do you expect them to do? They will only have the option of further criminal activity available to them.

What local governments (let's point out that Manchester City Council is currently Labour controlled) do is up to them. That isn't up to the national government. However, I question what they are going to do with these people since I don't think they can throw them out on the streets. Will probably just end up moving them to a different area.
